Role Overview:

As a Senior Product Designer for the Design System team with Housecall Pro, you are passionate about design systems and component-driven design. You have successfully built a scalable and documented design system. You work closely with product designers and software engineers to ensure a beautiful, consistent, and cohesive experience across our platforms. You build, test, document, and maintain components, patterns, and templates for mobile apps and responsive web.

What you do each day:

  • Create and maintain design components: Design, test, document, and refine reusable UI components and templates
  • Iterate and execute the design system guidelines and principles
  • Collaborate with product teams to ensure the design system is implemented correctly
  • Maintain the design system: Continually evaluate and update the design system as needed to ensure it stays relevant and effective
  • Evangelize the design system: Promote the use of the design system throughout the organization and encourage teams to contribute to its ongoing development
  • Advocate for your fellow designers and engineers while balancing business goals and strategies
  • Present and communicate concepts and design rationale to team members and stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years experience in a digital design profession as a UX/UI designer, interaction designer, product designer, or similar position
  • Knowledge of technical constraints for web, iOS, and Android
  • Understand accessibility guidelines
  • Portfolio showing design systems you have created or directly contributed to

About the Role

The Manager, Software Engineering of Dealer Inspire’s Website Platform is responsible for software health, maintaining high quality code standards, acting as champion for best practices, and ensuring timely delivery of the team’s assigned work. Beyond the technology, the Manager, Software Engineering must provide support and mentorship to their team members.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, OEM Engineering, this role is an essential bridge between our OEM Program Management Team and the engineering team(s) providing organizational and technical leadership for our OEM Integration team, gathering requirements for brand-specific projects, identifying project resource needs, and keeping stakeholders up to date on progress and timelines.

This role requires expert knowledge of the Dealer Inspire Website Platform and associated architecture. Strong problem solving, organization, and documentation skills are key to success.

Responsibilities Include:

  • People management for 5-8 people.
  • Provide development opportunities, coaching, conduct 1:1s.
  • Lead the engineering team by providing clear and compelling direction, setting priorities, and holding team members accountable for results.
  • Establish accountability and address conflict as need arises.
  • Contributing to or supporting internal tools utilized by the development teams.
  • Work with Design, Development, Infrastructure, and Business teams to fulfill requests.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of development experience using a variety of technologies.

  • Solid grasp of SDLC and IT project management concepts, including Agile/Scrum.
  • Expertise in building and testing mobile-first web applications.
  • Strong command of HTML, CSS, JS, and PHP.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects with varying timelines and requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex terms and ideas to stakeholders and coworkers.
