Title: Manager, Software Engineering – OEM Integrations
Location: United States, Remote
About the Role
The Manager, Software Engineering of Dealer Inspire’s Website Platform is responsible for software health, maintaining high quality code standards, acting as champion for best practices, and ensuring timely delivery of the team’s assigned work. Beyond the technology, the Manager, Software Engineering must provide support and mentorship to their team members.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, OEM Engineering, this role is an essential bridge between our OEM Program Management Team and the engineering team(s) providing organizational and technical leadership for our OEM Integration team, gathering requirements for brand-specific projects, identifying project resource needs, and keeping stakeholders up to date on progress and timelines.
This role requires expert knowledge of the Dealer Inspire Website Platform and associated architecture. Strong problem solving, organization, and documentation skills are key to success.

Responsibilities Include:
- People management for 5-8 people.
- Provide development opportunities, coaching, conduct 1:1s.
- Lead the engineering team by providing clear and compelling direction, setting priorities, and holding team members accountable for results.
- Establish accountability and address conflict as need arises.
- Contributing to or supporting internal tools utilized by the development teams.
- Work with Design, Development, Infrastructure, and Business teams to fulfill requests.
- Ensuring the health and sustainability of software projects contributed to by your team.
- Coordinating on-call rotations and incident management response.
- Working with internal and external APIs to build dynamic services.
- Support the development of our Award-Winning, WordPress based Website Platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years of development experience using a variety of technologies.
- Proven success in leading or managing teams, mentoring engineers and coworkers.
- Solid grasp of SDLC and IT project management concepts, including Agile/Scrum.
- Expertise in building and testing mobile-first web applications.
- Strong command of HTML, CSS, JS, and PHP.
- Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects with varying timelines and requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex terms and ideas to stakeholders and coworkers.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback, resolve conflicts, and collaborate effectively.
- Fast learner & interested in new technologies.
Nice To Have
- Experience with PHP frameworks like Laravel.
- Experience with automated testing.
- Experience building plugins or systems in conjunction with WordPress.
