Summary

Background Information

The Product design team at the Wikimedia Foundation provides design support to many product teams and initiatives in order to meet our annual and long-term goals. From September 2023 to March 2024, the team will have two of their three design managers out on parental leave. Their management duties will be covered by senior IC members of the team, but some of their design deliverables of these ICs will require the support of a Senior UX designer during these months.

Statement of Purpose

The Wikimedia Foundation’s Product Design team is looking for an experienced UX Designer to support other designers in the team on a temporary basis for a period of 6 months. This is a fully remote position with an initial 2 month trial period.

Scope of Work

The designer will work on a variety of different types of design tasks, defined by the needs of the product team and the Principal Designer they are supporting at the time. They will be required to join daily team meetings, conducted remotely, and share their design work with the design team for critique on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

  • Reducing complexity to create simple, delightful experiences for our users.
  • Creating prototypes and running experiments to iteratively test your hypotheses.
  • Using and evolving our design system and guidelines, to create new features from ideas on paper to implementation.
  • Applying accessibility standards and guidelines to your designs.
  • Collaborating with designers, product managers and engineers to create product plans and maintain product design processes.
  • Distilling complex concepts into easy to understand talking points to engage with our readers and communities throughout the design process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and edit a wide variety of unique internal communications materials with tailored messages based on analyses of target audiences and business objectives. These materials may include executive memos, corporate policies, corporate department campaigns and announcements, and global employee communications.
  • Event management and coordination for internal employees working remotely and on-site. Coordinating and hosting all aspects of the event, including, but not limited to, using virtual event and collaboration tools, working with vendors, and creating creative and presentation collateral for the event.
  • Provide administrative and department-level organization capabilities.

Your Impact

Axon is seeking a motivated and experienced Tier 3 Software Support Engineer with expertise cloud solutions. You will join our Software Support team and work directly with Support Engineers, Analysts, and cross-department Engineering teams, laser focused on NIBRS-centric (National Incident Based Reporting System) objectives.

As a NIBRS Software Support Engineer, you will contribute directly to our mission to improve the productivity of our customers by building scalable backend systems and new features centered around the NIBRS features built into the product. Particular to this role, you will also have the opportunity to build internal tooling to improve the effectiveness of our development, deployment and release pipelines.

What You’ll Do

Location: Remote in the United States – up to 5% travel
Reports to: Tier 3 Lead, Software Support

  • Develop NIBRS software submission & validation frameworks to meet State and Federal requirements.
  • Identify key NIBRS challenges, propose solutions, and seek feedback from leadership and stakeholders.
  • Work directly with NIBRS Support Analysts and Engineers to develop plans and meet requirements.
  • Develop and maintain automated processes that support Axon’s product deployment and evolution at scale.
  • Partner with internal teams and agencies to make public safety data accessible and actionable.
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration among engineers, customer solution architects, and business analysts.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or quantitative field, OR graduate of coding boot camp, OR 3+ years of technical experience in related field

Brief Overview:

Reporting to Director of Support, the Level 2 Technical Support Manager oversees the enterprise support of the Amwell experience. The Technical Support Manager plays a critical role in the success of our relationships with our enterprise clients and end users of our technology. Collaborating with our Level 3 Technical Support teams, Implementation, Customer Success and Account Director teams, the Technical Support Manager is responsible for defining, tracking, and reporting team success metrics, guiding innovation projects, all while driving continuous improvement to reduce effort and improve outcomes for our customers. The Technical Support Manager will lead a growing team of 15-20 Support Specialists and Leads to provide outstanding support to our enterprise clients. This person will focus on all aspects of customer satisfaction while carefully tracking and managing client issues. The right candidate has experience leading a technical software support team, working collaboratively with other internal teams and fostering positive relationships with our clients. Strong communication, creative problem solving and a passion for customer service are all key attributes for this role.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of Tier 2 Technical Support Specialists primarily focused is enterprise client support.
  • Monitor and manage case queues to ensure cases are resolved within SLA with high quality.
  • Take the lead on critical/high priority cases as needed to ensure they are addressed in a timely manner. This will require working closely with external stakeholders as well as internal teams including professional services, account management and our technology teams.
  • Define, analyze, interpret, and act upon customer support success metrics.
  • Implement an enhanced quality framework. Ensure cases are handled correctly through weekly quality audits. Provide coaching based on quality audit findings.
  • Support improvements to the knowledge base and ensure Specialists have the tools they need to effectively resolve case issues.

  • Develop and implement process improvements and procedures to drive efficiencies, improve quality and enhance the Customer experience.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience managing a high-volume technical support team
