In case we’ve never met before, we’re WebMechanix – an award-winning digital marketing agency based in Columbia, MD. We run high-impact performance marketing programs for over 65+ clients, which means we have to understand our clients and our clients’ customers intimately and manage a lot of digital marketing and advertising to reach them.
The Account Management discipline is responsible for owning all aspects of a client relationship — both externally as a trusted individual for client points of contact and internally as a champion for the client’s efforts. The specifically manage client expectations and team capability, day-to-day communications, client calls, and ongoing activities. They spearhead key client touchpoints (like Business Reviews and kickoffs) and work with team members to shape strategy and delivery. This position is primarily remote but may require occasional travel to on-site company and client meetings.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Work with your clients to establish business-level goals and initiatives, along with the associated key performance indicators (KPIs), and aid the client in achieving their specific goals
  • Manage the client and manage the flow of work through the internal teams to ensure that we maximize our time and effort and our client’s investment
  • Identify and solve problems, talk fluently about our scope of work, and address most questions about our typical digital marketing channels (SEO, PPC, Social Media advertising, email marketing, CRO, analytics, etc.)
  • Constantly educate clients and present relevant, new, and innovative ideas to keep them excited
  • Manage media budgets for clients
  • Manage profitability for clients to ensure that we are efficiently using resources
  • Identify and execute on opportunities to capture customer testimonials and referrals

Requirements

Here’s what you’ll have:

  • Proven experience leading campaigns, projects, and clients in our digital marketing service offerings that include: online advertising (paid search and social), search engine optimization (SEO), email marketing, marketing automation, content creation, conversion rate optimization, and analytics/reporting.
  • Excellent workflow management, project management, and optimization skills.
  • Strong client leadership skills and communication abilities
  • Fluency in Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, keyword research tools, reporting tools, and a range of popular digital marketing tools
  • 3+ years of digital marketing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field

The opportunity

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Senior Content Editor to be an integral part of our content team! You will be the gatekeeper of quality for our Fit Small Business website. You’ll work in concert with your Directors of Content and Content Producers to ensure a high-quality, efficient, and effective content production process for the content under your purview. You’ll also manage and coach staff writers, freelancers, and editors to ensure they’re always doing their part to ensure we’re delivering the best answers to our audience’s small business questions.

What you’ll do

  • Ensure each piece of published content is the best answer for FSB readers.
  • Fully understand the reader journey and confidently make suggestions on how we can improve our answers based on this understanding. This includes linking to other content, infographics, video, sliders, buttons, TOCs, CTAs, call-out boxes, and anything else that will help us deliver a better answer for our readers. You are the Editor-in-charge (EIC) checkpoint for the articles you edit.
  • Hire, onboard, train, manage and Staff Writers, Freelancers, and Editors, ensuring that expectations are clear and regular feedback is provided against performance against those expectations.
  • Develop writers and editors so their performance and overall production and quality continue to grow. Help the team through challenges and prepare them for the next level.
  • Work in concert with our Content Producers to autonomously drive the execution of the topic team’s strategies with staff writers and editors.
  • Own and consistently improve our publishing process in a manner that helps us consistently and cost effectively produce a higher quality and quantity of content.
  • Stay up to date on Topic Team and Company goals, play an active role in creating those goals, and ensure those goals are met.
  • You use Topic Overview Reports, North Star Reports, and the Competitive Landscape Report to identify areas of weakness to be addressed and areas of strength (both within your and other topic teams) to further leverage in the topics under your purview.
  • Know our competitors and ensure our answers are better than theirs not by a little bit, but by a mile.

Position Overview

As a Senior Graphic Designer, you will play a crucial role in the creation of various assets for both print and digital collateral, with a primary focus on ecommerce materials. Working within brand guidelines, you will bring creativity and innovation to design compelling visual elements that elevate our marketing efforts. Your ability to maintain high-quality standards while ensuring efficiency will contribute to the overall success of our marketing initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and design a wide range of materials for digital collateral, with a primary focus on ecommerce materials, including web pages, email marketing campaigns, social media graphics, and digital ads (60% of workload).
  • Create visually appealing assets for print collateral, such as brochures, flyers, posters, and event materials (20% of workload).
  • Perform retouching and image manipulation for marketing materials, ensuring visual consistency and enhancing overall aesthetics (15% of workload).

About the Role:

In this Individual Contributor role, you will enable data-driven decisions by providing financial and operational analytics, insights, and recommendations.
