Overview of the Role

We are looking for an experienced, technical and hands-on manager to help lead our next generation Identity Engineering efforts. You will have worked in technical leadership roles in architecting, building and managing identity platforms and have a bias to an engineering the business first approach. You will be responsible for leading a team of high performing engineers in overhauling our approach to identity across our organization. This will start with an assessment of existing tools and processes, followed by an engineering effort to build our next generation identity management platform.

  • Technical Leadership: As a subject matter expert in identity and security you will directly engage in the planning and architecture of our identity management systems.
  • Program Leadership: Work with your peers to define quarterly, and yearly goals/roadmaps to ensure that we are keeping pace with technology, threats and risks to the business.

As Marqeta’s Staff, Finance Systems Engineer, Transformation, you will serve as an integrator between business needs and technology solutions for our Finance and Accounting teams. This is a hands-on role where you will code, configure and deploy highly complex and innovative features across our finance apps portfolio. You will assist with our tech stack strategy, data strategy and architecture design. You will partner with Finance and cross-functional teams to transform processes, systems and data to achieve key business outcomes. Your chief aim is to transform financial apps and elevate financial operations excellence.

The ideal candidate will be happy liaising with stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to understand and clearly articulate the business problem, translate technical information into layman’s terms, explain different design options and deploy the correct solution using best practices and solid engineering fundamentals in an Agile framework.

What You’ll Do

  • Understand the company, business and technical requirements and goals
  • Translate requirements into well-architected solutions
  • Design, build, test and deploy solutions in Financial SaaS apps in an Agile framework
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, IT dept and other engineering teams
  • Proactively identify innovative solutions to improve end-to-end architecture in areas of financial reporting, procurement, accounts payable, compliance reporting, budget and forecasting, Quote-to-Cash
  • Design new and expand integrations with external/internal systems

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of financial systems implementation and transformation.
  • Experience configuring, maintaining and supporting SaaS applications
  • Experience with finance and accounting processes
  • Experience with different modules (GL, AR, AP, Compliance, FP&A)
  • Experience with reporting for for month end, quarter end and fiscal year results
  • Experience with audit controls and compliance requirements
  • Architecture experience to design solutions and size the level of effort required
  • Strong stakeholder management, requirements gathering, demonstration skills
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
  • Experience with with complex multi-phase projects
  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing environments
  • Strong declarative knowledge, understands tradeoffs of using code
  • Ability to systematically troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Ability to reliably prioritize and complete tasks with minimal supervision
