WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

The Business Analyst, CS Operations will partner with leadership on business strategy and solve some of Qualia’s most critical business challenges. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of CS Operations, you will focus on scaling our existing customer teams, while assisting with the most critical reporting to support our decision making. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for building, curiosity for problem solving, a collaborative approach, and rigorous analysis to everything they do.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leverage various data sets to create reports and visualizations to help guide the business and assess the performance of the CS organization
  • Develop management dashboards for executives to understand business performance
  • Provide regular reports to leadership team on key business metrics
  • Perform various analyses and research that enable Qualia to make smart decisions on how to scale customer teams and support expansion and retention of our current customers
  • Assist teams in developing a strategy to drive operational scale and efficiency
  • Identify areas for organizational improvement opportunities through rigorous analysis and execution
  • Provide ad hoc technical capacity as needed to critical customer success systems owned by the CS Operations team

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar professional experience
  • 3+ years of business analyst or data analyst experience in a SaaS setting
  • Familiarity with SQL or accessing data via a data warehouse
  • Expertise with customer success or support tools (such as Totango, Zendesk, etc)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (such as Looker, Tableau, Data Studio, etc)
  • Exceptional analytical skills and strategic mindset

Title: Senior Python/Django Developer – Remote

A2 Hosting is currently hiring for a Senior Software Developer with 5+ years of Python/Django experience to join our growing team! For this role, we are seeking an expert Django developer with a proven track record of shipping production quality Django web applications. Applicants without extensive Django experience will not be considered.

In this Senior Software Developer role, you will be responsible for handling advanced systems administration and automation tasks, as well as the development and maintenance of our internal datacenter automation tool which is written in Python/Django.

Job Specific Details

  • This is a full time, fully remote position
  • Schedule follows a Monday-Friday, 9a-5p Eastern Timer schedule

Project Overview

At A2 Hosting, there are thousands of servers and devices that our teams need to manage. To accomplish this, A2 uses a custom Django application that drives our datacenter automation. The servers and devices that are managed by this system are a mix of both internal and customer facing systems.

While this app is running and managing our servers, there are a lot of additional moving pieces. The Python app exposes an API to our billing system to handle the lifecycles of some of our hosting products, like bare metal dedicated servers or VPS. Our billing system issues create, terminate, suspend, and resume commands to the Python system and it takes care of running the necessary commands to put the device into the requested state. Because of that, there is a lot of backend code that requires Linux and Network Systems training to fully understand and be successful in this project.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with team members in the deployment and maintenance of company-level infrastructure, including but not limited to Apache, Nginx, LiteSpeed Web Server, exim, Postfix, LDAP, FreeIPA, PowerDNS, BIND, MySQL, Varnish, cPanel/WHM, Salt, etc.
  • Utilize Python to develop and maintain the in-house Datacenter automation tool
  • Perform periodic Python and Django updates to keep our application and its dependencies up to date
  • Pair program with other members of the Software Development team
  • Participate in escalated troubleshooting of systems in a 24/7 environment, including on-call rotation
  • Provide proactive maintenance of a large fleet of servers, including customer environments
  • Create and update thorough documentation of deployed systems, troubleshooting processes, infrastructure design, etc.
  • Provide guidance and consultation on internal projects and company priorities

Skills you must have

  • 5+ years of professional experience in developing production Django applications
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux Systems Administration
    • You must be comfortable and adept at developing Python/Django applications in a Linux environment
  • Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English through ALL utilized channels (email, direct messaging, and video conferencing)
  • Experience with configuration management systems such as Salt
  • Experience with datacenter automation strongly preferred
  • Experience working in a fully remote and globally distributed team a plus
  • Experience in a Hosting or similar Technology company is a plus
