What do you do all day?
The part-time Social Media Coordinator contributes to NMSIs storytelling and community engagement by drafting, posting and analyzing social media content across Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, and other channels. The coordinator also aggregates, schedules and analyzes engagement with NMSIs internal communication.
What are the details?
- Work with the Public Affairs team to propose monthly social media content based on the team and organizational strategy and ensuring that all content is brand appropriate
- Draft, design and post approved social media content in a timely manner
- Prepare monthly engagement reports and recommend adjustments to continually increase targeted audience behaviors

- Propose social media campaigns designed to increase brand awareness, audience engagement, generate leads or grow audience size
- Assist all members of the Public Affairs, as needed, and complete other duties and projects, as assigned

This is an hourly, part-time position. We expect the coordinator to work roughly 20-25 hours per week. However, all hours worked above 25 hours will need to be preapproved and must remain under 30 hours per week.

Product Designer
What Youll Do
As a Product Designer, you will translate the needs of users into innovative designs that empower users. You will manage the design process from discovery and concept ideation through full-fidelity prototype designs.
Responsibilities
- Execute all position responsibilities in alignment with Slingshots core values, mission, and purpose
- Set the long term product design vision along with plans for iterative updates continuously make progress towards that vision. Identify long term goals and near term objectives for design and user research.
- Advocate for and support Slingshots design and research processes, methodologies, and best practices.
- Advocate for and support Slingshots design system, information architecture, typography, copy, and visual hierarchy to efficiently solve complex and abstract design challenges.
- Design user experiences that are cohesive, comprehensive, intuitive, innovative and empowering.
- Lead the user research and design process to create new innovative products and features in collaboration with product, engineering, astrodynamics, data science, program, marketing, growth and leadership. Partner with engineering, product and program to ensure the successful integration of new designs and experience improvements into the product.
- Contribute to product documentation, user stories, product requirements, and roadmaps. Work with stakeholders to clarify user experience and the design.
- Apply the design tools that best fit the needs of the product development process: whiteboard user flows, exploring multiple UX directions, draft low fi wireframes, craft high fidelity production designs or bake high fi prototypes, etc. Ensure design deliverables are timely and appropriately comprehensive.
- Conduct direct user research, analyze data, and gather insights to inform and validate design decisions. Share your perspective, insights and rationale with the team so they can have great understanding and empathy for our users.
- Synthesize research, insights and perspectives from subject matter experts to create simplicity from complex and abstract design challenges.
- Develop informed perspectives that you can passionately and persuasively advocate for. Hold strong but loosely held opinions. Know when to disagree and commit wholeheartedly (and you can expect the same of your teammates).
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships inside and outside your focus areas with product, engineering, growth / sales, marketing, and program to facilitate buy-in from leadership and cross-functional teams where appropriate for your product designs and vision.

Pre-Requisites
- Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for government clearances, preference given for active TS Clearance.
Minimum Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in product design, including a strong understanding of software technology
- Industry experience in 3D spatial design, may include software, aerospace, or 3D gaming
- Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience (Advanced degree a plus) in a relevant design-related field
Preferred Skills
- Business skills: acumen of business principles and decision making
- Communication skills: excellence in verbal and written communication to drive the most effective exchange with stakeholders, including customers, partners, and investors
- Exceptional knowledge and experience with design processes, tools (Figma), and thinking

This is a 6-month contract (extensions likely), 40-hour-per-week (4-day 10-hour shifts per week) role, this is a remote role in the US.

Responsibilities:
- Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or manual tools. Completes layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices or may develop complete major layouts of engineering drawings.
