Position Summary: The primary role of the Associate Director, Social Media, is to develop brands through social media. They identify target consumers, set clear goals, build effective content strategies, increase traffic and boost engagement. This leader is responsible for guiding the social media team to create and maintain unique social media strategies. This person will manage a team of Social Media Managers, who are focused on building our clients’ social media presence through community management, content planning and development, and influencer marketing.

Minimum Skills & Requirements:

  • What You Bring:
    • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university as well as six to eight (6-8) years of media experience (with an Agency or Brand are acceptable).
    • Two to three (2-3) years of people management experience required.
    • Experience in creating social strategies, managing campaigns across multiple social platforms, and reporting on performance.
    • Experience in social planning, listening, and reporting tools (ex: Sprinklr, Meltwater, Brandwatch, Hootsuite, Helixa, Upfluence, Mavrck, etc.).
    • Prior “hands-on-keyboard” experience in-platform and in social management, social listening, & research tools.
    • The ability to understand performance data and apply that to strategy across various social platforms.
    • Understanding of all forms of social media, current and emerging.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
    • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft suite of tools.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Developing and confidently presenting social strategies and campaigns to clients.
  • Developing measurement plans to prove out the effectiveness against client goals, as a part of social strategy.
  • Staying current with all social platform trends and evolutions (including but not limited to design, use of AI and VR/AR, innovation, etc.), delivering agency POVs internally and to clients.
  • Establishing an organizational influencer marketing practice, which includes the development of influencer strategy, process for identifying, evaluating, and recommending influencers, management of content/campaigns, standardization of influencer contract templates, and establishment of 3rd party relationships to outsource influencer initiatives as needed.
  • Bringing new and innovative ideas to clients and agency partners, stretching the vision to what could be vs. what exists today.
  • Collaborating with the team/client on content development needs, partnering with the creative team on production related initiatives.
  • Working with Social Media Managers to ensure content calendars, social campaigns, community management, and influencer initiatives are developed, activated, and reported.
  • Providing strategic leadership and guidance to a team of innovative and talented Social Media Managers, who manage campaigns in platform, and overseeing their performance.
  • Monitoring campaign KPIs and working with Social Media Managers to tell stories with the data.
  • Providing insightful reporting, campaign recaps and case studies to client and agency partners.
  • Promoting an enhanced culture of innovation and testing across the team and our client roster.
  • Assisting in the hiring and on-boarding process for future social media team members.
  • Serving as a positive resource and role model for all team members.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
