We are currently hiring a Solutions Architect for our Enterprise team in North America to support our West sales region. Solutions Architects are the trusted advisors to GitLab prospects and clients, showing how the GitLab solutions address client business requirements. Solutions Architects are responsible for driving and managing the technology evaluation and validation stages of the sales process. They focus on the technical solution while also understanding the business outcomes the customer is trying to achieve.

The Solutions Architect helps drive value and change with software development for one of the fastest-growing platforms. By applying solution selling and architecture experience from planning to monitoring, the Solutions Architect supports and enables successful adoption of the GitLab platform. Solutions Architects work collaboratively with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Marketing organizations.

What you’ll do

  • Technical expertise: Engage with customers, both onsite and remotely, by providing technical expertise during the pre-sales process. 
  • Sales strategy: Collaborate with the sales team to go beyond support to formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue targets through the adoption of GitLab.
  • Technical guidance: Be the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) on Technical Close Plans and technical evaluations via POC/POV ownership, technical part of tender/audit support, and workshop design.
  • Customer relationships: Build deep relationships with people within customer environments to enable them to be GitLab advocates.
  • Customer feedbacks: Serve as the customer advocate to other GitLab teams, including Product Development, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Market knowledge: Maintain specialty competency in one or more technologies related to GitLab’s market focus through activities such as training, certification and creation of working examples for reuse internally and by customers and partners.
  • GitLab knowledge: With comprehensive knowledge of the GitLab platform and associated technologies, educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of GitLab while participating in discussions throughout the organization to ensure successful GitLab deployment.
  • Growth & Development: Continuously improve your professional skills with a focus on personal mastery and team learning through activities such as training, reading and seeking mentorship from others.
  • Strategic Client Engagement: Run Value Stream Assessments in your account with support of a Senior SA leading the engagement

Orbital Engineering, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to assist with single and multi-discipline projects. The position requires experience in heavy industrial engineering projects, preferably in the Metals, Midstream Oil & Gas, Refineries & Petrochemical and/or Utilities & Power Generation industries. The position requires the Structural Engineer to perform in varying roles related to detailed engineering design, project execution, technical support, and customer relationship development. This position will report to our Pittsburgh PA, Philadelphia PA, or Columbus OH Offices. This role can be done fully remote for the right candidate with preference to those living in the Eastern Time Zone.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Field engineering, Site visits and structural inspections as they relate to work scope.
  • Assist with engineering studies, calculations, detailed design documents and specifications, project cost estimates, and providing installation support services.
  • Perform analytical modeling of structures and components of structures utilizing STAAD/RISA 3D software.
  • Review calculations, drawings, and reports produced by other structural engineers in the office.
  • Structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and foundation design.
  • Develop, maintain, and upgrade technical standards/specifications to be used on specific projects, as well as centralized design basis and historical references.
  • Complete all tasks in accordance with design and project execution procedures and guidelines as set forth in the corporate Quality Management System.
  • Provide technical support for customers and support regional business development initiatives as a technical resource under the direction of a supervising engineer.
  • Manage project progress relative to project plan, schedule, and budget.
  • Contribute to company improvements in work flow, methods of work execution, and continued standards improvements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important. Candidates should have a thorough understanding and aptitude in the use of current computer software (STAAD/RISA 3D) including general office products, design and business enterprise software. This position will include some field engineering work and short duration travel will be expected from time to time.
  • Work in elevated or in tight, confined space type areas. Use of negative pressure, air filtering/purifying respiratory protection may be required.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 3+ prior years of professional experience
  • Experience with structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and/or foundation design
  • Working knowledge of STAAD/RISA 3D analytical software or equivalent
  • Exposure to the Metals, Midstream Oil & Gas, Refineries & Petrochemical and/or Utilities & Power Generation industries is preferred
  • Ability to perform field inspections at higher elevations

+ Responsible for tool procurement and inter-regional movement planning and inventory globally

+ Monitor the results of changes to the inventory plan/forecast and recommend modifications

+ Plan for prevention of unused inventory and backorders

+ Work with a global team in multiple disciplines (Tooling Leaders, Project Execution management, MCU leadership, Transactional Commercial) in resolving issues, communicating tool availability, and advising on tool demand planning

+ Work with customers externally and internally to identify new opportunities to improve our current processes.
