What you’ll be responsible for:

Under the direction of the Assistant General Counsel, Product & Regulatory, you will play an immediate and direct role in providing legal support for scaling Circle’s product suite, enterprise risk and compliance functions, and the global privacy and cybersecurity program, advising the company on a wide-range of regulatory, compliance, governance, enterprise risk, privacy and cybersecurity matters, contributing to and overseeing a variety of design, implementation and operation objectives, aligning and coordinating priorities and activities with cross-functional stakeholders. We are looking for someone who is highly proactive, accountable, team-oriented, capable of managing multiple competing priorities, and excited to join a lean team that executes on a variety of novel and complex legal issues.

What you’ll work on:

  • Providing support to Circle’s global legal operations, risk management efforts and strategic business objectives and priorities.
  • Advising Circle stakeholders on, among other things, comprehensive approaches to a variety of product development initiatives, regulatory compliance and enterprise risk management matters and guidance, implementation and maintenance with respect to crisis management, privacy, data protection and cybersecurity frameworks globally.
  • Collaborating closely with information security, compliance and enterprise risk team members to define scope, engage stakeholders, prioritize and drive execution of key crisis management, privacy compliance, data protection and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Owning and managing multiple project initiatives, legally compliant process improvements and workstreams critical to large scale, complex privacy projects.
  • Conducting privacy impact and risk assessments, and leading adoption of internal privacy principles, ensuring privacy by design into business operations.
  • Providing training, thought leadership and mentoring worldwide on privacy and cybersecurity consistent with Circle’s related policies, standards and procedures.
  • Conducting, overseeing and providing support in connection with internal investigations.
  • Proactively identifying a variety of compliance risk areas and strategies to mitigate them.

What you’ll bring to Circle:

  • 15+ of legal experience with a strong knowledge of:
    • Development and management of an effective global privacy and cybersecurity program, including relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, ideally in a financial services environment.
    • Privacy laws and issues in relation to evolving technology, preferably in the cryptocurrency and blockchain ecosystem.
    • Broad product development and compliance experience ideally in crypto/fintech, including implementation of enterprise risk management standards and Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) tools and systems.
  • Experience working with and presenting to diverse, cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • You are passionate about Circle’s mission and values, financial technology and the disruptive potential of cryptocurrency and blockchains.
  • You are comfortable working outside of your comfort zone in an evolving and growing environment that is prone to rapid changes, extreme velocity and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

The Role

Pantheon is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our team, either remote or onsite at our SF (on U.S. hours.)

The Data & Analytics team at Pantheon is focused on delivering actionable, trusted, and meaningful data products to the business. These data products will allow Pantheon to continue to drive growth, retain customers, understand our platform usage, and refine efficiencies in our business and platform. We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer who recognizes how important data is as an asset to the company. The software engineer will work closely with Software Engineers, Data Engineers, Analytic Engineers, Analysts, and Data Scientists to develop a robust configuration driven data platform that supports extracting, ingesting, curating, compliance, security, and access to data. This data platform is built with Python utilizing Airflow, Containers, Kubernetes, Configuration YAML, Great Expectations, and Terraform. It supports the full data community at Pantheon to deliver robust data pipelines with integrated data validation, idempotent design, CI/CD processes for the users. It will include an API design to support receiving data events, and supporting operational requests for analytical data sets.

Cool Things You’ll Do

  • As the lead technical member of the Data Ops team design the data platform including:
    • Ingest as a Service enabling consistent data extractions and loading into the data lake.
    • Curation as a Service enabling curations and transformations to be run, logged, tracked and audited with a simple configuration object.
    • Audit as a Service to enable full data auditing and validation of data assets in the data lakehouse.
    • Retention as a Service to support hosting historical data balancing data access, compliance, and cost management.
  • Work with new technologies like Snowflake including Snowpark with Python, Google Cloud Platform, Airflow 2, FiveTran, Census, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Develop a solution to handle large volumes of Fastly data sets to be available for data scientists and ML engineers.
  • Design and implement a solution to support real time event streams, including analytical value, from our platform team
  • Design and implement an API service to support operational requests of analytical data with security, auditing, and performance.
  • Mentor a team of engineers in designing and implementing cloud platform projects
  • Work in a full DevOps environment where the team manages all aspects of the development, testing, operations and support of our systems.
  • Continuous improvements to our standard of engineering excellence by implementing best practices for coding, testing, deploying and communication
  • Support the Data Org as a member of the on-call engineer rotation, contributing to the stability, reliability and performance of the data and data infrastructure that drives Pantheon’s success.

What you Bring to the Table

  • You enjoy and have experience with large volume data pipelines, cloud databases, and real time data events

About You

  • Some prior experience in a centralized delivery organization (PMO), preferably in the early stages of its formation
  • Passion for coaching and leading teams of professionals
