The role:

The Director of Engineering, Content Production & Infrastructure will lead technical strategy for Newsela’s core infrastructure and content production systems and establish a collaborative culture that is future thinking and focused on building, sustainable, scalable pathways for the growth of our platform. Reporting to the Senior Director, Software Engineering you will own and manage a broad scope and multiple teams. You will partner with your cross-functional counterparts in achieving a roadmap for 2023 and help our leadership define company-wide goals to exponentially improve the experience to our teachers and students. You will collaborate with engineering directors across the organization in brainstorming and transforming various facets of an engineering organization including (but not limited to): hiring practices, job ladder and levels, performance reviews, engineering guilds, and innovation labs. You will also mentor and coach your engineering leaders in creating a growth-mindset organization that strives to improve itself continuously.

Base compensation range: $200,000 – $220,000. Total compensation for this role also includes incentive stock options, bonus, and benefits. This compensation range may be adjusted based on actual experience.

We leverage a modern Android architecture and tech stack. The Fundrise Android application is written in 100% Kotlin and uses tools like Dagger, Anvil, OkHttp, Retrofit, Coroutines, Jetpack Compose, JUnit, and Espresso.

We are seeking a talented and passionate Senior Android Engineer to help build and scale the premier mobile alternative assets investment experience.

Responsibilities

  • Join a small, cohesive team of software engineers developing the Fundrise Android app
  • Participate in major design and architecture decisions at all stages of application development
  • Collaborate with our design and UX team to quickly iterate on prototypes
  • Review pull requests to ensure software quality
  • Work closely with our API team to coordinate releases and manage versioning and upgrades
  • Share in the ownership of the app deployment and help drive data-driven decisions around user analytics and error reporting

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience building and maintaining production Android applications
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead projects and collaborate cross-functionally
  • A firm understanding of Android release considerations
  • Experience with Kotlin and coroutines
  • Experience with unit testing and UI testing frameworks
  • Understanding of common application architectures such as MVP, MVVM, and MVI
  • Strong understanding of dependency injection
  • Solid knowledge of data structures and computer science fundamentals

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience maintaining a large Android application at scale with 1+ million active users
  • Experience building UIs with Jetpack Compose
  • An interest in data-driven product engineering to achieve conversion and growth goals
  • An interest in learning about the finance and real estate industries
  • Knowledge of analytics and monitoring frameworks (ex. Mixpanel, Segment, Metabase, Datadog)
  • Knowledge of production error reporting (ex. Sentry, Crashlytics)

The estimated base salary range Fundrise expects to pay for this position is between $161,000 and $191,000 annually. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a target discretionary performance bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable). The range for this role takes into account a wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: candidate’s relevant skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business/organizational needs.

We are searching for a Deployment Planning Manager to work for a leading company in smart weapons, public safety, hardware and advanced software / SaaS solutions for law enforcement agencies on a national and global level.

The Deployment Planning Manager will be responsible for working directly under the Professional Software Services Team and will be tasked with developing the schedule for Axon Records Management (RMS) and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems deployments.   • Resource Management: Assess and allocate resources required for successful deployments, including personnel, and infrastructure
  • Work closely with sales on Professional Services deployment timelines for RFI’s or RFP’s
  • Participate in planning sessions, be able to model scenario planning
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up to date documentation of deployment plans, processes and standard operating procedures
  • Manage the Product Coordinator

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technical Engineering (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Development) or related field is preferred
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • 3+ years of people management experience is preferred
  • Experience utilizing technical program/project management tracking tools to ensure project tracking and completion
  • Proven experience in planning and coordinating software deployments, preferably in a SaaS environment
  • Effective communication, organization, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification is a plus
