About the role and the team
We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to define the future of our managed service, Pulumi Cloud. Pulumi Cloud is the best way to manage your Pulumi infrastructure as code at scale.
In this role, you’ll use your product management experience to be the voice of the customer when working with engineering. You’ll define, prioritize, and ship features that delight our users and deliver on the vision of cloud engineering. You will define and analyze product metrics to make decisions and provide key insights to the business. And, you’ll be working with a diverse and globally distributed team along the way.
You will
- Partner with the Product team to own features and feature launches from inception to launch and then beyond to ensure their success once used by our customers.
- Analyze data to inform product decisions and measure the success of product feature work.
- Build a deep understanding of Pulumi’s customers to understand how they do cloud engineering and what their unmet needs are
- Collaborate with UX design and engineering to create, specify, and deliver innovative and impactful solutions to our customers’ needs
- Own features from idea to successful adoption, working with marketing, customer success, sales, and our community to ensure that features aren’t just built, but also used and loved by our customers
To be successful in this role
- You have 3+ years of engineering, product management, program management, or equivalent experience
- You’ve used or are familiar with the cloud computing space
- You have a track record of delighting customers with elegant solutions to complex and ambiguous technical problems

Compensation:
- Base Salary Hiring Range: $156,400 – $189,000

- Write working code including the underpinning mathematical models for new interactive simulations
- Play a critical role in playtesting and other LX/UX Research activities
- Work in sprints with a project manager and developer team to build out the simulations for release
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use
- Participate in market research and strategic planning including staying well informed enough about the competitive landscape to innovate ahead of it
- Identify and execute against opportunities to take bold steps forward to advance the utility of interactive simulations in classrooms. This could run the gamut from AI powered approaches that allow simulations to adapt to individual students’ unique learning trajectories to “serious games” approaches that make simulation-based learning more engaging and fun.
- The ideal candidate for this role will have proven experience and passion for working on creative educational projects that have required an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset to launch and a high level of attention to detail and strong problem-solving to shepherd to a successful outcome.
Job Requirements:
- Experience with mathematical modeling of a wide range of systems and phenomena
- 4+ years of experience with application-level JavaScript, HTML5, and Canvas
- Production experience with JavaScript libraries that help with developing interactive simulations (e.g. PixiJS, Adobe Animate CC) and support data visualization (e.g. d3 or similar/equivalent library)
- Good sense of design, layout, and presentation.
- Knowledge of functional programming and object-oriented programming paradigms
- Ability to write efficient, secure, well-documented, and clean JavaScript code
- A graduate degree in CS, EE, mathematics, or related field with an emphasis on mathematical modeling
- Demonstrated knowledge or experience in applied mathematics
