We are looking for a passionate, driven user experience strategist to help understand our end-users complex problems, motivations, underlying operational processes and create a future-state vision for best-in-class, end-to-end experiences. In this role, your insights and vision will inform the future of various product and service roadmaps, utilizing tactics such as persona/empathy mapping, journey mapping, service design, experience interaction models, roadmapping, etc., and work with UX research & design colleagues to translate qualitative and quantitative data into actionable insights. This role requires a considerable amount of stakeholder engagement and direct contact with our customers (external & internal) to develop a thorough understanding of user needs, obstacles that inhibit customer satisfaction and to propose ways to improve their user experience.

General responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in defining external customer and internal workforce journeys; conducting user interviews; establishing experience metrics; and identifying opportunities for improvement through optimizing user interactions, processes, and systems.
  • Collaborate with UX Research and Design colleagues to engage with customers and stakeholders across our various lines of business to understand end-user goals, processes, and sentiment throughout their journey.
  • Stay up-to-date with product and service design strategy trends and best practices in user experience, interaction design and technology.
  • Execute and help manage day-to-day tasks of each assigned project through facilitation of regular cross-functional meetings, status updates, and escalations as needed.
  • Partner with Product Managers and Technical Leads to convey findings to improve products, services and processes.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX’s total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan. As the Lead Visual Designer, you will report to the Head of Product Design and:

Visual storytelling:

  • Take a leadership role in developing a specific experience (e.g., a user path for Earnest Growth, an event booth design) from the initial stages of research and concept development to the final stages.

Design process:

  • Implement a clear, refined, and transparent design process that is consistently utilized to produce high-quality results in collaboration with product designers, marketing teams, growth experts, and internal brand stakeholders.

The Role

What your day could consist of:

  • Collaborate with marketers and product managers to uncover new ideas and shape product growth.
  • Design user experiences that support engagement through the entire customer lifecycle: from acquisition to paid conversion, all the way through to expansion.

  • Work through design problems from beginning to end, translating business strategy, research insights, and data into crafting exceptional user journeys and production-ready code.
