Position Summary
Our Solution Engineering team is a strategic partner to the sales organization and responsible for building a compelling vision of the Bentley solutions for our users and prospects in some of the largest organizations in the world. As a Solution Architect (SA), you will serve a vital role in the Solution Engineering organization as a brand specialist who provides is an Industry Domain Expert in at least one market vertical(s) and either has or can quickly acquire an in-depth knowledge of at least one product portfolio within Industry Solutions. Trusted with helping the user set project-based strategies and operational plans at a specific engineering level (such as structural, civil) around best practice workflows within the company and with users.
The SA will be a respected voice within the Product Advancement Group (PAG) and will routinely coordinate with Account/Success Managers, Solutions Architects, Application Engineers (SA/AE) as well as PAG colleagues to align near term development and long term product roadmaps with user and industry requirements. The SA will engage with influential practitioners or project leaders in a practice or region.
The SA will work with advanced users, Bentley account & success managers, SAs, AEs, and Product colleagues in at least one geographic region to propose comprehensive solutions that may span across the Bentley product portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Account Advancement team by providing technical guidance and support during presales activities.
- Assist the Account Advancement Team including Application Engineers of related brands in the preparation of solution designs, RFP responses, and contract negotiations.
- Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders within at least one geographic region including enterprise account users, strategic technology partners, and internal Bentley team members.
- Lead technical workshops and training sessions, in alignment with User Success, for users and internal teams on user enterprise systems integration and solution development utilizing the Bentley product portfolio.
- Work closely with Senior Solution Architects and Product Managers to define and prioritize product features and enhancements based on customer feedback and market trends.
- Work collaboratively with Application Engineering teams to help prioritize user recommended product enhancements prior to presenting to Product Management.
- Assist Senior Solutions Architects to improve go-to-market strategies and Sales Playbooks.
- Evaluate and mitigate a competitor’s advantage through proposed product enhancements or solution offerings.
- Observe and drive industry trends and developments through Thought Leadership and participating in or chairing industry committees.
- Present the Bentley Portfolio of solutions at conferences and other industry events to help expand Bentley presence in at least one geographic region.
- Work collaboratively with Industry Solutions Marketing Teams to communicate the more complex Bentley product portfolio of solutions to a sophisticated audience including EACs and technology providers.
- Engage with Enterprise Account Managers to communicate how Bentley’s current and future product portfolio and implementation services can align with user objectives and strategic plans, document technical solution for the account plan, and contribute to annual account reviews..
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
- At least 15 years of experience in one or more industries of expertise.
- At least 7 years of direct project experience using or implementing Bentley or relevant software in the industry of expertise.
- At least 5 years of marketing, business development, or direct sales experience in the industry of expertise.
