About the Role:

The DevEx team is responsible for building tools and services that enable TaskRabbit developers to be efficient and productive. We govern, architect, and build required services that aim to provide high-quality tools for writing, testing, and debugging code. Additionally, many core aspects of architecture are owned by this team. We work in a rapidly iterative environment where we ship new code every day.

As a Fullstack Engineer, you will join a team that designs, builds, evolves, and maintains the foundational ecosystem that reduces development time at TaskRabbit. You will be:

  • Designing & driving new changes that increase the productivity of engineers.

You should have:

  • Overall, 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • Experience in Ruby on Rails, NodeJs, Javascript, TypeScript, React
  • Experience in building API-driven applications or endpoints.
  • Experience in MySQL, Redis, and/or ElasticSearch.
  • Experience in building developer platforms, defining the strategy, and providing technical direction to the group to get those executed.
  • Strong design and architecture skills
  • Experience with software engineering best practices (e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documentation)
  • Passion for improving the developer experience and mentorship.
  • Like to think about how to break problems down into smaller iterative steps.

What you will do

As a Principal Data Scientist on the AI team at Karat, you will drive innovation with the purpose of extracting key insights from our data and providing actionable recommendations for innovative products we can build into the Karat platform as we scale. Collaborating with a small team of Engineers, you will innovate on top of Karat’s own and external data, leverage cutting edge AI technology like LLMs, carryout complex analysis, build proofs-of-concept and prototypes, create insight, and build models and products that serve a variety of key end-users in the Interviewing Cloud space.

Karat’s HQ is based in Seattle, Washington, with employees distributed throughout the U.S, Canada, India, and United Kingdom. This position is only available in the United States, excluding Alaska and Hawaii. Immigration sponsorship is available for this role.

  • Contribute to Karat’s AI strategy and initiatives by creating a suite of AI product enhancements that will help to further establish Karat as a thought leader in AI for technical hiring.
  • Lead projects in close partnership with the broader data and engineering teams to increase the signal captured during technical interviews in order to maximize the product value provided to clients.
  • Prototype and build solutions to continuously scale our platform in order to serve a constantly increasing number of interviews with a flexible network.
  • Work hands-on in coding, data preprocessing, feature engineering, model development, and exploratory data analysis.

The experience you will bring

  • 12+ years of tech industry experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, or other related roles
  • MS or PHD in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, a Natural Science or equivalent quantitative subject (or equivalent experience) preferred
  • Strong expertise in programming languages such as Python or R, and proficiency in using relevant data science libraries and frameworks.
