What You’ll Do:

  • Continuously evaluate and improve product development processes to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and enhance collaboration across teams.
  • Lead and coordinate product development projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, milestones, and budgets. Identify and mitigate risks to project delivery.
  • Coordinate product releases, including scheduling, testing, documentation, and communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Summarize & escalate failures to any release features

Job Description:

Squarespace is seeking an Intranet Specialist to oversee the implementation and ongoing management of our new intranet platform which will be a digital home for company news, engaging content, and amplification of our strategy, vision and values.

You will manage the end-to-end intranet experience from strategy to user experience to oversight and measurement and help manage intranet content, ensuring that it is accurate, relevant, and engaging for employees. You will also collaborate with HR technology, operations, and partners across the organization to gather feedback, prioritize updates, and increase adoption of the intranet as a centralized source of truth.

You will possess a background in employee communications, with demonstrated strength in: intranet management, written and verbal skills, comfort with metrics and analytics reporting, and an appetite to build and experiment.

You will report into our Internal Communications Lead and sit on a team that includes internal and executive communications, talent brand, recruitment marketing, employee experience and events. This role can be a hybrid role, based in one of our office locations, or remote.

  • Manage the content strategy and user experience of our intranet platform.
  • Collaborate with partner teams to ensure a world class intranet that meets our needs and ensures a user-friendly experience.
  • Develop editorial calendars and maintain content schedules to ensure publication of intranet updates and announcements that keep employees informed.
  • Oversee the overarching information architecture, content quality, and editorial control across the intranet to ensure it is following our strategy and standards.
  • Work with a decentralized global network of content editors, coordinating their efforts while encouraging a collaborative and streamlined approach.
  • Provide training and support to content editors, ensuring they have the knowledge, tools, and skillset they need to contribute and maintain engaging and accurate content.
  • Design and implement intranet governance strategy, including content management, user access permissions, and version control.
  • Build relationships with, support, and influence partners at all levels, working with them to understand their needs and involve them in planning and finding solutions.
  • Monitor intranet usage metrics and analytics to assess performance, identify areas for improvement, and increase adoption across the company.
  • Conduct research to understand intranet user needs and propose solutions to enhance the functionality and usability of the intranet platform.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies in intranet management and employee communication.

Who We’re Looking For…

  • 5+ years of experience in employee or internal communications or a related field is essential.
  • Prior experience with the Atlassian suite of products preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing company intranet platform or similar aspects of company-wide communications, including writing, managing, and measurement and evaluation.
  • Experience developing trusted relationships and influencing at all levels of an organization.
  • Penchant for organization and adept at planning, prioritizing, and pivoting.
  • Comfort with making decisions using data by identifying patterns, themes and trends, generating meaningful insights.

About You

You are a strategic and experienced content writer and strategist. You understand the importance of aligning each piece of content within a messaging framework to achieve the objectives of the piece while delivering tangible value to its intended target audience(s). Your approach emphasizes clarity, common language while integrating SEO principles into all content published across all of our owned digital platforms. Additionally, you excel at maintaining a comprehensive understanding of our market, our customers, our offerings, and our unique differentiators, while effectively managing people and projects to ensure timelines and goals are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop various content pieces, including blog posts, social media copy, web pages, video scripts, presentation decks, adverts, and ebooks, catering to diverse target audiences and personas within different company types based on our ICP.
  • Be the primary writer and executive editor for the Airship blog, overseeing a strategic editorial calendar and collaborating with internal and external experts to craft posts. You will also repurpose existing content thoughtfully to create new posts, optimizing them for SEO.
  • Manage the content library on our website and internal content collaboration workspace, Confluence, conducting regular content and performance audits, and updating or retiring pieces as necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the marketing team to produce content, as well as with colleagues in solutions, customer success, product management, engineering, and sales, providing ghostwriting support when applicable.
  • Track, measure, test, and analyze content-related initiatives to continuously improve performance and effectiveness.
  • Possess a proficient understanding of SEO principles and the ability to optimize content for target keywords.
