Overview:
The Senior Instructional Designer, Web Development is responsible for designing and authoring educational content, creating educational products, and ensuring that learner outcomes can be successfully achieved.
Opportunity Highlights:
- Lead the design and development of new content related to our Full-Stack, Front-End, and Back-End Career Paths, as well as Skill Paths and Courses in the Web Development domain (Learn HTML, Learn CSS, and Learn JavaScript).
- Develop a larger strategy around what Web Development content we produce and how best to maintain existing courses.
- Design new content offerings that include interactive lessons, quizzes, projects, and outcome-oriented learning paths.
- Review, provide feedback to, and mentor a network of 3rd party authors who contribute content to Codecademy.
- Research industry standards and emerging technology, in addition to educational techniques and philosophies, and apply them to curricula.
- Research the learner experience, identify weaknesses in curriculum, and make improvements to existing content.
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, product managers, and marketers to design, create, market, and improve Codecademy’s curricula.
- Collaborate with the Customer Support, Curriculum Quality, and Product teams to gain insight into the learner experience and make data-based improvements to curricula.
- Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to create and improve the content authoring process and tools and make improvements to our learning environment.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or practical experience required.
- 4+ years of professional experience as a teacher or instructional designer designing and delivering technical educational material.
- A strong pedagogical background with formal training on different educational frameworks.
- Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages, including, but not limited to: Python, JavaScript, Ruby, Java, C++, C#, PHP, or Go.
- Experience with developer tools such as Git, GitHub, and the command line.
- Experience with popular JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, and/or Vue
- Experience with developing full-stack web apps
- Interest and ability to learn programming languages, libraries, and frameworks quickly.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Bachelors, or Masters, or PhD in Computer Science or Education.

Job Overview
The Senior Engineering Manager for the Experience team is a critical leadership role at VRChat. This person is accountable for the technical direction of the Experience team which owns the core experience for users across all VRChat platforms. This includes the “core loop” of VRChat, platform performance, Trust & Safety, and anything aimed at improving the engagement for VRChat users. As one of the Experience Team Leads, the Senior Engineering Manager will work collaboratively along with product and design leads to define the team’s strategy and direction.

Your main tasks will be:
- Conducting experiments with LLMs: Explore and analyze the effectiveness of different architectures and techniques (SFT, RLHF, Adapters, etc.) to enhance the capabilities of AI models;
- Developing and implementing evaluation methodologies: Implement and maintain robust frameworks to assess the performance, accuracy, and user satisfaction of AI bots, including offline and online metrics;
- Optimizing models for inference: Improve the efficiency and speed of AI models during inference to ensure they meet the performance and scalability requirements for production environments;

The Creator team manages all external facing SDKs and interactions with our creator community that drives our UGC based platform. This team helps build the tools and standards to empower a large community of engaged creators that power the magic behind our platform.
