About this role

We are looking for an IT Operations Engineer who is capable of juggling multiple projects, able to work within tight timelines, and pitch in our help desk queue when needed. This person will collaborate in the development of and assist with rolling out new company initiatives and work with department stakeholders to ensure business is not negatively impacted. An ideal candidate has a strong technical background with macOS and Windows. You have excellent customer service skills and can break technical things down for anyone to understand. Applicants for this position should have already had proven experience in an IT Support & Project management, or similar customer service environment for 6+ years and are comfortable with giving feedback and coaching a small team.

Responsibilities

  • Guides Support Engineers with issues and properly documenting solutions
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Pulls together cross functional team leaders to escalate issues and implement change
  • Taking ownership of more complicated issues reported and seeing problems through to resolution, working with other teams to come up with solutions
  • Displaying leadership where necessary
  • Identify areas that could be improved upon or streamlined, process improvement and present the recommendations for action
  • Ability to come into our Chicago office when needed to assist with events or Audio Visual hardware upkeep
  • Manage project timelines and ensure timeliness and efficiency for Systems Engineering, updating Jira to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
  • Leading onboarding for new hires, keeping presentations up to date when tools change
  • Independently making decisions with reduced oversight that impact the organization
  • Assist with evaluation and purchasing of new hardware and software

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree or experience in a relevant field like Computer Science, Information Technology, or Project Management
  • Able to travel to Chicago Headquarters on an as needed basis (average of 1-2 times/month)
  • Hands-on experience with macOS and Windows from an installation and troubleshooting perspective, as well as experience with mobile devices and other tech devices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • 6+ years experience being in an IT role in a fast paced environment
  • Experience with project management software such as Jira

Overview:

The Project Director works hands-on leading our clients and internal staff in implementing our proprietary applications. This position requires technical aptitude, business acumen, Workers Compensation industry knowledge, and strong customer-facing skills. The Project Director may spend part of their time at the client site, working directly with the customers’ business and technical teams.

Projects are staffed to provide both business and technical expertise for the client. The responsibilities outlined below represent the overall duties accomplished by the Project Director.

Outside of primary project responsibilities the Project Director will take on other internal responsibilities as deemed appropriate.

Description:

  • Responsible for ensuring customer projects are delivered in scope, on-time, in superior quality, on-budget and meet all contractual obligations.
  • Utilize Agile or waterfall project management methodologies and relevant supporting software in the planning, scheduling, reporting and change management of the projects.
  • Manage (in a matrix way) business analysts, developers and testers throughout the project lifecycle – from business requirements acquisition to a successful go-live.
  • Create, monitor and execute project plans.
  • Work closely with the project technical leads in the creation and management of project artifacts, schedules and budgets.
  • Governance – provision of customer project statuses, project timeline maintenance, project plan performance reporting, etc
  • Estimate and create project budgets including but not limited to: tracking and monitoring project cost, review of budgets and costs with customer and internal management, management and maintenance of detailed project time records for all members of the project team.
  • Manage customer expectations and deliverables including as appropriate client issues management and escalation.
  • Report, document and manage risks, risk mitigation activities and the resolution of system delivery and support issues.
  • Support the sales and account management functions to expand the customer relationship beyond the projects.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of 10+ years of overall experience in leading software implementation projects, which included development and delivery to customers.
  • Industry domain experience within the sector is required, with Workers Compensation experience preferred.
  • Experience with all aspects of project management practices including use of Microsoft Project.
  • Experience leading teams providing coaching, mentoring and training to customers.
  • Strong knowledge, understanding and experience working with Agile and waterfall methodologies
  • Strong business orientation and experience in direct interaction with customers
  • Knowledge and experience in project delivery methodology

Breakthrough T1D is expanding its reach to Spanish-speaking communities in the United States, and the creative designer will play a pivotal role in helping us develop culturally and linguistically appropriate designs that will help Spanish-speaking people live better with type 1 diabetes.

We’re looking for a talented part-time (project based, up to 66 hours per month) bilingual creative designer who can take concepts and ideas and create visual representations in both print and electronic media. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of current design software and be skilled in every step of the design process, from concept to final deliverable. Collaborating with multiple team members, the creative designer should be able to take written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects. The successful candidate will thoroughly understand licensed branding and marketing and find the right style and layout for every project.

This role will report to the Director of Multicultural Community Programs but will partner closely with the Marketing & Communications Department to ensure all materials are on brand, leveraging existing templates, and aligned with Breakthrough T1D’s look, feel, tone, and strategic communications priorities.

Objectives of this role:

  • Work on a wide range of projects, using various software programs to visualize and develop innovative graphic designs that meet organizational and team goals
  • Obtain input to ensure that designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the organization and/or brand appropriately
  • Work independently as well as cooperatively with the team to meet deadlines, stay within budget, and schedule project implementation based on workload
  • Examine existing processes, identify flaws, and create solutions that improve design capabilities

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize across teams on a wide range of Spanish/bilingual content materials, including, but not limited to, resource redesign, Community Summits collateral, chapter assets, Spanish social media pages creative content, mission pieces, and others as needs arise
  • In partnership with Marketing and Communications and Data and Technology colleagues, oversee and update the Spanish section of the Breakthrough T1D website, ensuring that content aligns with brand and brand voice, and is accurate, up-to-date, and reflective of our partnerships and initiatives
  • In partnership with the National Social Media Team, develop engaging social graphics for social media posts and campaigns about programs and partnerships
  • Develop clear and concise copy and/or design work that effectively communicates key messages and engages our target audience, through both digital and print
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications team members to develop content that aligns with organizational goals and priorities
  • Work closely with the internal Marketing and Communications team and other internal stakeholders to align messaging, coordinate campaigns, and maximize impact

Qualifications and Requirements:
