Python Developer
REMOTE – LAKEWOOD, CO
$50 $80 Hourly
NexGen is looking for a Full-Stack Python Developer who will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining Python applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies. This individual will be required to work closely with members of the NexGen and client teams, including but not limited to, domain experts and developers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications.
- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes.
- Ensure applications are secure and up-to-date with the latest security standards.

Technical Skills:
- 5-7 years of experience as a Python Developer.
- Experience building data extract, transform, and load pipelines for web applications.
- Experience integrating machine learning and analytical tools.
- Ability to apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Knowledge of database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL, NoSQL).
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Experience using Data Science libraries like Pandas for data manipulation and transformation.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- knowledge of GIS/ArcGIS development with Python.
- Experience working with federal government contracts and a thorough understanding of federal IT standards and compliance requirements.
