Summary:
The Director of Software Engineering will lead, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams across multiple functional domains. Responsibilities:
- Lead the Engineering Team: Direct the development and delivery of high-quality SaaS products, ensuring alignment with customer needs, project scope, and business impact.
- Strategic Alignment: Drive the strategic direction of the software engineering team, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Team Building: Build and nurture a high-performing software engineering team that is passionate about delivering innovative solutions.
- Talent Development: Hire, train, and develop engineers and engineering managers with expertise in SaaS development, fostering growth and excellence within the team.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product management, information security, DevOps, and architecture teams to ensure that software solutions are implemented to the highest standards and deliver maximum business value.
- Technology Leadership: Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in software engineering, ensuring the team adopts best practices and cutting-edge technologies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the software engineering team to senior management and other stakeholders, clearly communicating progress, challenges, and needs.
- Travel: Occasionally travel to meet with other software leaders and stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications:
Leadership Experience: Proven experience at the director level in software leadership roles.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive Engineering Experience: 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
- SaaS Expertise: Extensive experience in SaaS software development; familiarity with OSS/Java is a plus.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in leading and managing high-performing SaaS product engineering teams.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of software engineering principles, best practices, and cloud-native composite architectures.
- Team Building & Mentorship: Proven ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams that successfully deliver complex programs and projects.

This role can be based remotely within the U.S. with travel to project sites and the DEPCOM office as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience leading EPC Project teams with a balanced focus on development and execution.

What You Will Do
- Oversee and direct Project personnel on utility scale solar photovoltaic and BESS projects
- Provide guidance to Project team members on all aspects of project execution including schedule management, financial forecasting, prime contract compliance, progress reporting, customer and community relations
- Provide input on project documentation related to contract administration, schedules, and budgets
- Drive portfolio level planning, prioritize portfolio opportunities and mitigation efforts, leverage internal and external capabilities to drive advantaged solutions
- Create an environment where knowledge and ideas are shared proactively, challenge is solicited and encouraged while building trusted relationships internally and externally
- Guide the Project team to focus on economic thinking
- Set clear and measurable goals for Project Managers and their direct reports
- Work with our preferred partners to put monthly/quarterly leadership meetings in place
- Perform talent reviews regularly and ensure we have the talent and accompanying strategies that will create a competitive advantage for DEPCOM Power

You Will:

- Demonstrated knowledge of forecasting methodologies and statistical analysis to determine the most accurate forecast fit
- Proven ability to review and analyze complex data sets, extracting actionable insights and drawing informed conclusions to drive strategic decision-making.
- Create buying recommendations for generic finished goods based based on key metrics such as reorder points and safety stock minimums
- Drive accountability through the implementation of key metrics such as forecast accuracy and WOC
- Articulate and document all risks resulting from inventory levels including disposals, risk due to expiration and inventory shortages
- Leverage analytics team members to build out appropriate reporting to support automation/tools for demand planning
