About the Role

Graphic Design Consultant – 1099 Project Work

  • Byron Center, MI – Remote (any location)
  • Contract
  • Marcomm

Organization Overview

World Renew is a faith based not-for-profit, international development and disaster response organization with home offices in Byron Center, Michigan (U.S.A.), and Burlington, Ontario (Canada).

Within World Renew, the Marketing & Communications US team is responsible for acquiring new leads and donors, raising funds through cross channel campaigns, and raising awareness about the agency by growing World Renew’s digital presence.

Background

A current need of the World Renew Marketing Communications US team is an experienced graphic designer to create resources for an upcoming campaign. These resources will be focused on a specific realm of World Renew’s work and should be evergreen/usable for the next couple of years.

Key Consultancy Objective

World Renew seeks to engage an experienced graphic designer to create a set of branded visual designs for an upcoming campaign. This work includes designing visually compelling downloadable campaign materials from pre-written content as well as designing some additional assets for use on other channels. The downloadable resources need to be designed for simple printing e.g. proper bleeds to account for churches and individuals printing assets at church or at home easily. These designs should be engaging while aligning with World Renew’s branding. Proposals should include a sample of 2-4 products or relevant visual content you have designed. (See below for submission details.)

General Requirements

The consultant will demonstrate proven expertise and success in graphic design, ideally with experience in the non-profit sector in the United States and/or Canada. The consultant must have his/her own computer equipment and necessary design software – i.e. Microsoft Suite, and Adobe Photoshop, among others, and communications equipment including but not limited to telephone, Zoom or Teams, internet access, email account. Experience working with international development and humanitarian assistance organizations is a definite asset. This consultancy will remain in place for the specific campaign; an option to extend the contract for future design projects may be considered.

Objective of Consultancy

Assets created from this consultancy will be used for a resource kit housed on World Renew’s website, applicable for a church audience as well as general website visitors. These resources are to be designed for digital use but also formatted in a way that is printer friendly. Work on this campaign will involve relatively straightforward designs with a clearly explained need while also relying on the designer’s own creativity and expertise to create a solution to a specific design need. Designs will likely require the distillation of a large amount of content or data into an easily understood, visually compelling design.

Key Deliverables
The graphic design consultancy will include but may not be limited to the following deliverables:

  • visually designed campaign overview document (1-4 page document detailing elements of the campaign and how to implement successfully)
  • visually designed church bulletin insert (half page – 2 per 8.5 x 11 paper—front is highly visual and the back is predominantly a story of impact and call to action)
  • social media graphic image
