What You’ll Do
As Vice President of Web Strategy & Creative you will be responsible for driving the strategy, vision, and execution of our web properties and digital creative. You will lead a team of web designers, developers, and creative professionals to ensure that our digital experiences are both engaging and effective, and that they support our overall business objectives. You will report directly to the CMO and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with marketing and business goals.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage web strategy including experience, content and creative for www.birdeye.com and associated properties
- Develop a world-class digital experience that is informed by powerful acquisition, conversion, and retention analytics.
- Lead content strategy and information architecture for web templates and navigation
- Analyze website performance data and make data-driven decisions to improve website performance and user experience.
- Drive an agile CRO roadmap to increase engagement and conversion through user research, A/B testing, and experimental web strategy
- Lead qualitative and quantitative research to measure and generate roadmap for top journeys and personas
- Manage the creative development process from concept to execution, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet business goals and timelines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our website and digital channels align with our messaging and brand standards.
- Proactively manage multiple projects, from start to finish, to meet priorities and requirements in an agile environment
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with engineers, designers, researchers, and writers to conceptualize, prototype, test, iterate, and build end-to-end experiences
- Inform, influence, support, and execute our brand vision
- Evangelize the brand both internally in the organization and externally with customers
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in web design, SEO, and digital marketing
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience in web development and digital marketing with highly recognized brands and website
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful web strategies
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team of web professionals, developers and creatives
- Experience with multiple CMS platforms and hands-on migration experience is a big plus
- Strong leadership when collaborating with design, engineering, product, and marketing
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and prioritize resources (often remote) effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Title: Software Engineer – Backend

The ideal candidate will have deep experience as a backend software engineer ranging from distributed systems and micro-services architecture to CICD, devops and software engineering best practices. This candidate will also have experience rebuilding backend stacks while the plane is in flight’. We’re looking for a backend specialist who has intrinsic motivation, is technically savvy, detail-oriented, and energized to chart the course for our discovery platform capabilities roadmap.
How you’ll add value:
- Build, evolve, deploy, monitor, and maintain backend services to power critical user experiences with focus on high availability, low latency and scalability
- Actively participate in agile process – work breakdown, grooming, estimation, planning and execution of software development work as part of a scrum team
- Develop software in various languages including NodeJS, Ruby, and others. Participate in code and design reviews
- Build, operate and maintain infrastructure, tools, and CI/CD deployment pipeline. Take operational responsibility for the services that are owned by your team
- Lead small technical projects from start to finish through lean process

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:
- 4-5 years experience delivering impactful, high-quality backend software applications for large scale production systems
- Experience and exposure to backend architectural patterns, technologies, frameworks, languages and tools. Tendency towards micro-services architecture when appropriate
- Some Devops and/or SRE background in managing uptime of production systems, and safe deployment techniques
- Experience with the following technologies, frameworks, languages and tools –
- RESTful services, API design best practices, distributed systems, micro services and other architectural patterns
- Developing and maintaining restful services in NodeJS, Python, Ruby, etc
- Database technologies such as MySQL, Postgres, NoSQL, GraphQL, etc
- Configuring and using cloud hosted infrastructure like GCP, Heroku, or AWS
- Test driven development including unit, integration and regression testing and automation for backend services and APIs (Datadog, RUM, synthetics, dashboards, logging)
- Some CI/CD processes and deployment best practices
- Experience working in cross-functional product teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – Ability to propose solutions and back them up with sound reasoning

Additional information:
- In accordance with California law, the salary range for this role if filled within Los Angeles is $100,000 – $150,00. You Will:
- Write clean and efficient code based on product specifications and participate in the entire development life cycle, from concept to release
- Create and promote modern web UI development
- Develop modular, maintainable components for the next generation of applications at Smartsheet (React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, HTML, and CSS)
- Be a technical leader on our team, implementing features in TypeScript and integrating with back-end Kotlin/Java services running on AWS

You Have:
- 7+ years software development experience

- Experience with modern web technologies, front-end frameworks and integrating with back-end services
- Experience building Single Page Applications at scale
- Successful in an environment with frequent production releases
- Experience writing complex asynchronous code that communicates with multiple services
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
