As a Product Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Take a higher percentage of users from landing pages to applications and increase step-by-step funnel conversion through to checkout.
  • Ensure pre-application Content Infrastructure, Quality, Accuracy, Usability, and conversion to application start is constantly improving.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our customers and industry through user interviews, market research and product analytics.
  • Refine the authenticated user experience, focusing on ease of use and minimizing friction between customers and our operations team.
  • Work closely with BI/Data teams to ensure data and insights are available and actioned upon routinely.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of product development (from concept to execution, including A/B Testing and Metrics Tracking).

Job Summary:
Working under the direction of the NIWL director in partnership with the director of Strategic Initiatives, this position is responsible for managing workforce and apprenticeship projects. Provides guidance for and implementation within the workforce and strategic programming framework, government policies and compliance, and building and supporting staff serving communities and participants. Works with a team to ensure continued high performance and responsiveness to changing needs and opportunities for populations in underinvested communities. Supports strategic planning and business development with a focus on US government, corporate and foundation funding sources to position NIWL as a leader in workforce, justice, and youth development.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide leadership and management support of an array of existing Department of Labor and Justice projects, ensuring strategically coherent project direction, well-managed growth, and compliance with funder regulations.
  • Continually seek out ways to build the capacities of the project team members, individually and collectively and to build the capacities of the non-profit organizations we provided funding and technical assistance to.
  • Coordinate with other members of the leadership and management team on appropriate management, compliance, and performance standards, as well as effective systems for budget management, knowledge management, research, and best practices associated with the projects.
  • Support programming staff to collect, document and disseminate lessons learned and best practices, incorporating these into new project designs.
  • Lead proposal and development efforts for sustainable NIWL growth, proactively identifying opportunities for new programming initiatives and increase the funder base.
  • Ensure routine monitoring visits to the field are conducted to ensure relationship building, compliance and quality project implementation.
  • Build our youth development practitioner apprenticeship program across the country.
  • Develop a sound understanding of projects to be able to professionally represent the organization to implementing partners, the government, and create new business relationships.
  • Assist the senior leadership team in developing and maintaining strong relationships with funders and partners, assisting in the development of appropriate advocacy actions.
  • Forge and maintain solid cooperation with partner organizations through regular communication, joint decision-making, and sustainability of efforts.
  • Create a supervisory environment focused on the achievement of team and individual results that emphasizes the importance of learning, productivity, accountability, and openness.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Applied Knowledge & Skills:

  • Effective knowledge of design, implementation, and management of Department of Labor and/or Department of Justice programs
  • Knowledge of various funding mechanisms, general contracting, and reporting requirements
  • Knowledge of serving in an intermediary function and building the capacity of organizations.
  • Knowledge of business development processes, specifically proposal development for government, foundations, and the private sector.
  • Proven ability to manage effective teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sensitivity and strength working with underinvested communities and embracing cultural differences.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or its International Equivalent in Business, Economic Development, Education, the Environment, Public Administration, Youth or Related Fields.
  • Project Management (PM) Certification preferred.

Experience:

  • Typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience (including 3+ years of line management experience) in business administration, project management transformation, change management, strategy consulting, or internal corporate strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience in sector specific or multi-sector project management and implementation.
  • Experience working in a non-governmental organization (NGO).
  • Experience working with justice or other underrepresented groups.

Job Brief

In this role, you will have an impact on Twelve’s mission to lead the way to a fossil-free future through carbon transformation. You will be an integral part of the Twelve’s development of CO2 conversion processes. In the Mechanical Drafter/Designer role, you would be creating models and engineering drawings for the productized CO2 conversion system, which will be standardized, scalable, and mass manufacturable. As a member of the Product Development team, you would take engineering inputs from the engineering and production teams. You would use these inputs to develop the models as well as the drawings to manufacture prototypes and mass produced systems. We are looking for someone who would be excited about a mechanical drafting/design role in a collaborative and fluid startup environment while being a key part of Twelve’s mission.

This is a fixed term 6 month remote contract role.

What you will do

  • Create and maintain piping and instrumentation diagrams, CAD models, drawings, bills of materials, and assemblies for productization of the CO2 conversion system and capital projects.
  • Define mechanical specifications and requirements of pressurized gas systems that include valves, piping, and pressure vessels.
  • Partner with engineering, production, vendors, and quality to develop world class models and drawings for assembly and manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with process engineers and controls engineers to develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Create standard operating procedures for mechanical design processes.

Who you are

  • You have an associates or bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, design or a closely related field.
  • You have significant experience using design tools such as SolidWorks 3D, SolidWorks Routing, AVEVA P&ID, AVEVA E3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D or similar applications.
  • You have hands-on experience in the mechanical design of hardware for power plants, pressurized gas systems, or complex mechanical systems.
  • You can demonstrate:
    • Ability to create and read Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
    • Experience creating models and drawings of pressurized gas systems (valves, piping, flow and pressure control, etc.) including hardware and electrical routing
    • Proficiency in using product data management (PDM) and product life cycle management (PLM) tools
    • Strong GD&T principles and manufacturing processes
  • You have a strong desire and curiosity about learning new things.
