Web Developer, Senior
Job Summary
As the Senior Front End Web Developer, you will design, develop, and implement enterprise-level web development projects including websites and web applications for Purdue University Online. This position will write, test, and debug code to support modifications and maintenance of new and existing web applications. You will continuously evaluate industry trends for opportunities to utilize new technologies and methodologies and implement these into the solution stack as appropriate. You will participate in needs analysis and development of creative solutions including interface features, site animation, and form integrations. Leverage available technology to enhance performance and improve usability and sustainability of web development projects in collaboration with graphic designers, marketing staff, and other web development teams. Troubleshoot technical problems associated with web pages and web applications and implement solutions to minimize disruptions to web service.
This position will pay between $60,000 – $90,000 annually.
As a remote organization we have multiple time zones amongst our workforce. Everyone works the standard 8 hours and we all try to be available from 9 am – 4 pm Eastern time for meetings.
What We’re Looking For:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Web Programming, Web Design, Front-End Web Development, or related field
- Four (4) years of experience in web development or related field required
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Skills Needed:
- Knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, concepts, and techniques in web design and development
- Knowledge of Cascade, Omni, Drupal, WordPress, or similar web development platforms
- Experience developing with Google Tag Manager, Salesforce, and Marketing Cloud
- Experience working with CSS, JavaScript, HTML, Python, Unix systems, PHP, MySQL, and Apache
- Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with non-technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with web accessibility (WCAG 2.0) and cross-browser/device compatibility and testing
- Planning, project organization and effective time management
- Continuous process improvement mindset
Preferred:
- Experience in full stack implementations, database administration, web scrapping, or UX design
- Experience in project management methodologies (Agile, SCRUM, etc.)
- Understanding of SEO concepts and tools, including exposure to technical SEO
