Job Description

The Web Designer will produce high-quality design solutions for renaissance.com and other Renaissance digital properties that communicate and elevate Renaissance’s products, solutions, and overall brand. Their work will focus on visually interpreting and translating our ever-changing organization and will be instrumental in the evolution and success of our digital properties.

In this role as a Web Designer, you will:

  • Lead and/or contribute to the design and creation of new UX/UI design strategies, webpage templates, email templates, graphics, and other digital design solutions using wireframes, mockups, site maps, flow charts, prototypes, etc.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and potential solutions for improvement of UX/UI for renaissance.com and other digital properties and coordinates with stakeholders to understand requirements, impacts, and other key considerations
  • Work with Digital Design Lead and WordPress Developer to identify holistic approaches to design and development needs with an eye to web performance, accessibility, and sustainability
  • Coordinate with the Digital Content Specialist to create wireframes and mockups of new webpages based on relevant website content strategy, SEO strategy, and design best practices
  • Coordinate with Digital Content Specialist on webpage builds and updates for renaissance.com
  • Collaborate with Web Team leadership and others to develop testing strategies for web design elements like CTAs, page layouts, etc. and interpret website data as a means of optimizing web design, content strategy, and SEO strategy
  • Lead and/or coordinate testing of new design concepts, including user testing and feedback
  • Coordinate with other Web Team members and stakeholders from across the organization on design project deliverables, timetables, and approvals
  • Coordinate with Brand and Creative Team, Product teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure consistency across digital and print design collateral
  • Support marketing campaigns with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency of the brand and to achieve strategic goals
  • Do ongoing image research
  • Translate strategic insights into effective and creative design ideas
  • Coach and educate stakeholders from across the organization on UX/UI and other design bets practices
  • Help maintain accountability for overall design and experience of Renaissance digital properties

Qualifications

For this role as a Web Designer, you should have:

  • 3-5 years as a visual designer for digital properties
  • Two-year design degree from an accredited school or university
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate and respond to project expectations, design requirements, feedback, etc. with stakeholders less well-versed in design principles
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge and experience working with WordPress
  • Familiarity with ADA/WCAG compliance and other design accessibility standards
  • Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.) to help inform UX/UI decisions
  • Experience in a remote/hybrid work environment. Ability to stay focused, self manage, prioritize, and produce strong work with minimal oversight. Must be highly organized and extremely detail oriented
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to function as a project leader with cross-functional teams as well as contribute as an individual
  • Practical knowledge of user-centered design methodologies, usability principles, responsiveness, and web-based information architecture and designs. Familiarity with emerging technologies and design trends
  • A portfolio of your design work on webpages, email layouts, landing pages, and user interfaces, including wireframes and mockups that demonstrate your design process
