Product Designer
The Product Designer on the design system team is a critical role in our Product Development organization. This key contributor is an integral member of the User Experience (UX) organization and works directly with our product development teams to deliver best-in-class user experiences in our product suite. This includes partnering with product designers and product managers to understand customer behavior, identify customer goals, and translating user needs into designs.
You are responsible for meeting the UX needs of the design system team, especially in Visual Design, but also including Experience Design, Information Architecture, Writing, User Research and Analysis, and Prototyping. You are a creative thinker and problem-solver dedicated to putting the user first by learning through rapid experiments and frequent customer feedback loops.
This position requires commitment to exceptional results, a strong desire for continuous improvement and the ability to build a collaborative culture within User Experience and broadly across Product & Technology. This in turn will ensure we continue to innovate and expand our market-leading product suite.

During the first six months, you will:
- Turn broad, conceptual ideas into?elegant?design?solutions?centered on our users’ success and happiness at completing their jobs
- Come to understand existing visual styles and designs and/or evolve styles and components in the design system
- Proficiently perform and deliver moderately complex reusable UX work for the design system that solves straight forward user problems
- Be self-sufficient in UX work and define interim milestones for and own small or medium sized projects
- Create or recognize visually cohesive and consistent work in an abbreviated period.
- Offer and solicit feedback from team members to continually better your work and the design practice
- Identify and apply?best practices?to common design problems
- Participate in UX squad routines (DSUs, Design Critiques, Demos and Quarterly Retros)
- Demonstrate proficiency in research and provide input on content strategy within most stages of SDLC and PDLC (software and product development lifecycles)
- Lead and shape user research sessions to help define user needs and validate design decisions
- Work directly in parallel with peers across discovery, design, and delivery to achieve fiscal year objectives for the design system team
- Instill an unwavering?commitment to quality in all projects from conception to launch
- Live our culture and values and follow standards in executional and operational excellence and be a consistent contributor to the user experience community of practice
- Work successfully in our collaborative environment with a willingness to share your ideas with team members and to reach out to others to help pressure-test ideas
- Partner with development and engineering to ensure excellent communication and execution of every project
- Contribute to high-level, strategic conversations across a category with product and executive teams
Required Experience:
- Experience working in an agile environment delivering UX
- Ideally 3-5 years hands on experience delivering user experience in an enterprise SaaS web development environment
- Proven experience collaborating with and across multiple cross-functional product teams
- Proven ability to work independently, deliver and iterate on valuable user experiences leveraging a design system, demonstrated by a strong body of work
- Highly skilled in visual design and competent one more of the following areas: Experience Design, Design Systems, or User Research
- Strong knowledge in visual design principles with strong command of composition, typography, accessibility, information hierarchy, and data visualization.
- Proficient in design systems: have utilized, understands, and have evolved components and/or patterns as defined by a design or brand system.
- Is proficient in considerations for all users when creating or evolving components and patterns to defined accessibility standards.
- Broad set of UX skills, advanced in experience design and system design within a complex information architecture
Preferred Skills:
- Highly proficient in the latest user experience tools, strongly preferred (Figma, Sketch, InVision, Mural, Whimsical)
- Work experience or skilled in illustration and illustration systems creating graphical assets for a product experience
- Ability to translate industry standards, like Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), into understandable and approachable deliverables to assist designers and writers
- Bachelor’s degree in human computer interaction, design, engineering, or related field
- Has a solid understanding of front-end development (HTML/CSS)
