Title: Visual Designer (Full Time Contractor)

Description

Nerdy is looking for a talented Visual Designer to join our Brand & Design Experience Team. The Visual Designer will report to the Director of Brand Experience and will play a key role in supporting the Varsity Tutors for Schools marketing teams while collaborating heavily with the product UX designers. The ideal candidate is a strong conceptual thinker who possesses a wide range of visual design skills, including expertise in multi-platform digital campaigns, motion graphics, website design, content creation and branding. Like the rest of the team, this role requires juggling multiple priorities.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of full-time, professional design experience
  • Undergraduate degree in design or portfolio school certification is required
  • A strong understanding of visual design best practices including composition, typography, and color theory demonstrated in your portfolio
  • Mastery of Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premier/After Effects
  • Skilled in Figma
  • Organized with impeccable attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to take direction, remain organized, communicate effectively and work autonomously
  • Outstanding professional references
  • Photo and video editing skills
  • Understand and appreciate that Nerdy is an apolitical company and that we can have the largest impact if we are united in our focus on helping people learn and not divided or distracted by advancing unrelated causes.

  • Knowledge/understanding of UX design best practices
