POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President of Services, will be responsible for leading a dispersed team of DevOps Experts. The primary goal of this role is to strategically leverage a powerful team of architects and engineers in order to drive value of our customers’ investment in Harness. This will be accomplished by having a team of experts provide prescriptive guidance on how to best modernize their software delivery and management processes and capabilities.

Duties will also include an emphasis on process development, developing new service offerings and associated collateral (such as customer-facing solution blueprints and supporting documentation). This individual should expect to take an active role in large, complex opportunities and lead from the front.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical (ideally DevOps) background in order to fully understand the complexities of typical software development organizations. In addition, the candidate should have strong process and operational skills in order to run an org capable of delivering several concurrent projects at once. They will possess the qualities of efficiently managing delivery of services, being highly proficient in presenting complex solutions to potential customers and assisting customers and prospects in setting strategic direction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership & guidance for a team of Solution Architect, Solution Engineers and possibly project managers delivering onboarding services to strategic customers.
  • Ensure the team is properly enabled on all Harness product lines and best practices in order to effectively deliver services to customers.
  • Support selling motions by developing and pitching strategic services offerings to drive confidence in our abilities to effectively drive value with prospective customers.
  • Develop services offerings that align to the effective onboarding and value realization for Harness customers.
  • Effectively manage a bench of internal Solution Architects, Engineers and project managers to meet margin targets for the company
  • Develop all of the processes to track hours, project manage and measure utilization of a PnL modeled services team.
  • Develop delivery models that leverage strategic partners for co-delivered and outsource services delivery models.
  • Maintain a high level of in-depth knowledge on all product offerings and industry trends and technologies
  • Attract, retain & develop talent in the DevOps industry to fortify the bench of services delivery professionals
  • Attend QBR’s and EBR’s for top-level & strategic customers to ensure services delivery is meeting the strategic outcomes required by Harness customers
  • Consider tool development to improve the productivity of the Solutions Engineering and Architecture teams

ABOUT YOU

  • BA/BS degree in CS or Computer Engineering-related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing services delivery teams
  • Familiarity with owning a PnL services delivery team with an understanding of services selling, team utilization, cost/benefit analysis, etc.
  • 10+ years of experience in a technical customer facing role
  • DevOps industry experience preferred with technologies like:
  • Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub, Gitlab, Bamboo, TeamCity, TravisCI, Bitbucket, Jira, ServiceNow, Helm, Kustomize, PCF, OpenShift, AWS, GCP, Azure, Terraform, CloudFormation, Linux, Python, Bash, Powershell, AppDynamics, New Relic, Dynatrace, Instana, Prometheus, ELK, Splunk, Sumo Logic, etc.
  • Must be technical, team oriented, and have a documented path of success and contribution to a growing business in the consulting or managed IT services field
  • Experience delivering custom solutions to customers of all sizes, whether internal or external
  • Easily adaptable to a fast-paced business environment
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, driven, and have excellent communication and presentation skills
