Vice President of Product Marketing

Ready to grow a product marketing organization from early-stage to strategic function? Reporting directly to the CMO, you will set our overall Product Marketing strategy, create a clear and compelling messaging framework, drive differentiated offerings, and deliver work that will meaningfully impact revenue targets. You’re going to need help to execute your vision, so you will also build a creative and savvy Product Marketing team to help you drive results.

What you’ll do:

  • Assess market dynamics, buying trends, and customer behavior in key market segments, identifying market opportunities for current product offerings and new solution development
  • Drive product marketing direction for Udacity, creating a messaging architecture and collaborating with demand generation, content marketing, and digital marketing teams to develop content and test new messages in market
  • Provide input into product roadmap, strategy, and pricing structures based on market and customer research findings, industry analyst interactions, and competitive research
  • Educate sales, product management, marketing teams, and the partner channel about the competitive landscape, competitor offerings, and key Udacity differentiators
  • Lead Udacity’s analyst and influencer relations strategies and drive interactions with key thought leaders and industry analyst firms
  • Develop a customer reference program, building an engaged customer community and gathering feedback, proof points, value stories, and ROI data that can be used both internally and in externally-facing marketing programs
  • Build and lead a high-performing Product Marketing team, setting clear goals and measuring outcomes

What you’ll need

  • Deep experience in product marketing, positioning, and messaging development for enterprise software companies (experience in education, learning, or training software a plus)
  • Experience supporting integrated GTM motions that include sales, channel, and services partners, as well as strategic alliances and technology ecosystems
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with a focus on translating complex product information into value-focused, strategic content
  • A proven track record of team building and empathetic, collaborative people management
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build trusted relationships at all levels, from executive sponsors to product end users
  • Demonstrated experience building credibility with and delivering results for product teams, sales teams, marketing teams, and customers
  • Ability to use data to measure results and inform decision-making and strategy development
