Title: VP, Product & Design

Location: Remote US

Why Mozilla?

Mozilla Corporation is the non-profit-backed technology company behind pioneering brands like Firefox, the privacy-minded web browser, and Pocket, the content discovery platform. More than 270 million people around the world use its products each month.

Along with 20,000+ volunteer contributors and collaborators all over the world, Mozilla Corporation’s staff are driven by our vision to be the trusted guide through a joyful internet. We design, build and distribute software that enables people to enjoy the internet on their terms.

At Mozilla, we believe in the value of qualitative data to develop rich insights and continuous measurement through experimentation, data analysis, hypothesis, and tracking metrics. We partner richly and align teams on a shared perspective about the product we are intended to ship to deliver a cohesive product experience to our customers. We are looking for a VP of Product & Design to bridge the gap between executive leadership and our product teams.

As a VP of Product & Design at Mozilla, you will

  • Build, lead, manage, and mentor a team of Product Management, Design and UX Research leadership via cultivating a high-performing, unified team culture.
  • Manage a mature organization that includes product management, design and research directors.
  • Be a part of our VP-level leadership team that serves as the backbone of our operations.
  • Translate business strategy and vision from our executive team into execution-ready product strategy for your team that is evangelized across the organization
  • Partner with leaders across Mozilla to ensure we’re achieving our vision cohesively, effectively, and in a way that creates confidence in our ability to deliver high engagement product experiences that customers purchase and continue using
  • Serve as a key leader driving our product management roadmap and delivery, and will ensure the ongoing health and quality of our support and platform products.

Your Professional Profile

  • 18 years of product management experience, including impactful leadership roles on major enterprise projects
  • 10+ years of experience as a product management leader of geographically distributed teams to include remote teams.
  • 5+ years of management experience leading the full spectrum of a design organization
  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong experience designing for desktop, mobile and application interfaces
  • Proven experience as a data-centric leader, able to dive deep into the product performance metrics to identify fact patterns and derive action, while also seeking deep insight through user research measures to understand quantitative patterns.
  • You can confidently build sound arguments and business cases for investments, while always preserving a bias to action given constraints (time, resources, data) in order to achieve business outcomes and solve user needs.
  • Committed to growing and developing your own team; you’ve successfully led multi-level teams and have coached your direct reports to be supportive, successful managers of their own teams.
  • Experience leading user engagement for a high-traffic product with millions of users.
