As the Vice President of Design, you will be a key member of our Product Management leadership team bridging the gap between product and marketing for the entire company. You’ll be responsible for owning and driving the overall design strategy, vision, and execution for not only our products; but web, content, and design brand etc. You will lead a talented team of designers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our products deliver a minutes to wow user experience.
Your impact will be:
- Providing visionary leadership to the design team, setting clear design goals and strategies that align with our product and company objectives.
- Overseeing the end-to-end design process, from concept to implementation, ensuring the highest standards of design excellence and usability are met.
- Mentoring, managing, and inspiring a diverse team of designers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate design thinking into the product development process, advocating for the user’s perspective.
- Championing user-centered design principles, conducting or overseeing user research to gain insights and validate design decisions. Use data whenever possible.
- Establishing and maintaining a cohesive design system that ensures consistency and scalability across all products.
- Defining and communicating the long-term design strategy, keeping abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in a leadership role within design or UX/UI design.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a track record of designing successful, user-centric products.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in design tools and software.
- A deep understanding of user-centered design principles, design thinking, and usability best practices.
What will give you an edge:
- Experience working in Open Source and Database space.
- Knowledge of emerging design trends and technologies.
- Experience managing remote design teams.
- Familiarity with Agile or Lean product development methodologies.
