Vice President, Legal (Contracts) – Remote

This position drafts, negotiates, analyzes, and reviews contracts and performs ancillary matters related to contracts, including advising departments on contract interpretation and legal ramifications of contract terms, responding to due diligence requests, and drafting and responding to demand letters. The incumbent will lead and supervise a variety of matters, including legal research projects, ensuring that business practices, policies, and dealings of PSCU meet regulatory and compliance requirements, and preparation and support for disputes including litigation. This position will supervise attorneys and/or non-attorney staff within the Legal department.
Role Responsibilities
- Review, draft, negotiate, analyze and revise various contracts including service contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and vendor agreements
- Advise various internal departments regarding contract terms and implications on business operations
- Respond to requests for legal input related to Requests for Proposal and due diligence requests from clients
- Research, draft memos and respond to inquiries related to legal matters affecting the company including regulatory compliance, disputes, and intellectual property rights
- Review, draft and respond to demand letters related to contract matters
- Supervisor other employees
- Operate within approved budgets
- Assist SVP, Legal with matters including legal research projects and in preparation and support for disputes including litigation
- Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for a corporation
- Provide advice to the corporation concerning the transaction of business involving internal affairs, directors, officers, and corporate relations with the general public
- Lead Legal department processes, tools, and continuous improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provide direction and leadership to staff; guide and mentor staff in the completion of responsibilities and ensure accountability for performance.
- Handle interviewing, hiring, promotions, transfers, performance appraisals, compensation, counseling, and termination of staff as required.
- Promotes a collaborative and high-performance team focused on quality and continuous improvement.
Role Requirements
Education
- Undergraduate Degree and JD Degree (from ABA-accredited law school) required.
- Admission to a state bar with an active membership in good standing required; admission to State of Florida Bar preferred.
Experience
- Minimum twelve (12) years experience as an attorney in drafting, analyzing, and negotiating a wide variety of contracts including service contracts and vendor agreements required.
- Minimum five (5) years managing a department or team responsible for legal contracts required.
- Experience within a corporate legal environment preferred. Experience working in the financial services sector preferred.
Pay Equity
PSCU is committed to pay equity and a competitive benefits package. The typical annual hiring range for this position based on relevant experience and internal equity is:
$136,200.00
to
$199,800.00
*Note: The amount shown is based on full time annual salary and would be prorated based on role.
In addition this position is eligible for an incentive plan, based on performance.
