The Role
- Lark is looking for a UX Researcher with experience employing a variety of research methods to thoroughly explore users’ needs, attitudes, motivations, and behaviors.
- The Senior UX Researcher will collaborate closely with designers and product managers to deeply understand our user base and generate actionable insights to drive product direction and design decisions.
- The right candidate will be skilled at communicating across departments to share findings and generate empathy for our users.
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with product and design teams to identify, design, coordinate, and execute user research initiatives
- Examine existing data, designs, and prior research to identify research gaps
- Conduct a wide range of research types including interviews, usability studies, competitive analyses, diary studies, card sorting, and surveys
- Collaborate with the data team to generate hypotheses, design quantitative analyses, and interpret user data
- Combine qualitative and quantitative information to generate a comprehensive understanding of user behavior, attitudes, and motivations
- Develop personas, empathy maps, journey maps, and other design research artifacts
- Communicate across departments, presenting hypotheses, proposals, and research results and insights in compelling and creative ways
- Generate actionable insights to improve and evolve the product, and work with the design team to incorporate these insights into design initiatives
- Document and share user research best practices with other researchers and designers
- Continually advocate for the end user
What You’ll Need
- Basic understanding of quantitative, behavioral analysis, and statistical concepts
- Experience with a range of qualitative user research methods including interviews, usability studies, competitive analyses, diary studies, card sorting, and surveys
- Understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of different research methods and when and how to apply each one
- Experience creating and communicating design research artifacts
- Ability to effectively and creatively communicate research findings and insights; ability to craft compelling stories about our users and their interactions with the product
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Computer Interaction, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Design, UX, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years user research experience
