What you will be doing
AmerisourceBergen is looking for a passionate, innovative, and experienced UX Product Design Lead to join our growing Experience Research & Design (ExRD) team.
This role is responsible for partnering with our business leaders, consultants, and agile teams to ensure the voice of the customer is translated into meaningful and easy to use capabilities. This role will collaborate closely with business leaders, product owners, consultants, engineers, and other designers/researchers to ensure the successful implementation of UX design strategies.

Day to day responsibilities include:
- Lead design initiatives focused on understanding customer needs and translate these into digital strategies and experiences that are aligned with business goals and technically feasibility
- Define UX engagement and collaboration approach with stakeholders
- Create strategies and conduct ongoing user research, contextual inquiries, usability tests and surveys to uncover unmet customer needs, test and validate concepts to solve the right problems and deliver solutions quickly
- Document and define UX strategy, principles, experience architecture, site maps
- Create low to high fidelity wireframes and prototypes for usability testing
- Facilitate Design Thinking sessions/workshops with stakeholders and subject matter experts from all levels of an enterprise organization
- Collaborate with Product and Project leaders in road mapping and phasing execution
- Collaborate with design, customer engagement, development, and product squads to deliver solutions that improve the overall experience for our customers
- Introduce diverse approaches to achieve great product design that include Design Sprints, Modular Design, Lean UX and Design Guilds
- Advocate for customers with a commitment to making complex processes elegant, intuitive, and easy
- Experience working with designs systems and training others on best practices
- Must be open to working aligned to 9:30am EST start of the day
What your background should look like
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI) or equivalent professional experience is required.
- Eight (8) or more years experience in digital product design for both web and mobile platforms.
- Experience working in a mixed methodology environment (waterfall and agile).
- Experience designing graphic user interfaces for complex applications.
- Strong product design strategy skills in areas of consumer/user research and analysis, personas and customer journeys, design thinking, ideation and brainstorming techniques, sketching, prototyping, and concept validation.
- Expert ability to understand & create product strategies, journey maps, user-flows, and content structure.
- Advanced experience leading, coaching, and mentoring product design teams.
- Ability to work closely with agile squads to drive effective and efficient implementation of processes and designs.
- Knowledge of how HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other web languages impact design process and development.
- Excellent presentation, communication, documentation and organization skills.
- Strong presence, including ability to partner with and effectively influence product and engineer leaders
- Skilled at communicating verbally and in writing to diverse audiences
- Proactive self-starter; assertive and able to ensure that Product Design principles are adhered to
- Strong prioritization skills and ability to quickly re-prioritize in a dynamic environment
- Analytical mindset and creativity to balance detailed problem solving with ‘big picture’ strategic view
- Must be open to working aligned to 9:30am EST start of the day
