As AES strives to become the customer-first, digital-focused, clean energy provider of the future; the success of our digital customer experience platforms and applications becomes critical to our strategic success. The UX Designer will give to the Digital Transformation developing easy-to-use and aesthetically pleasing products and solutions for internal and external customers. The ideal candidate will also have experience in human-centered design, maximising this expertise for problem solving and creative solutions. The UX practice will support the research, design, execution, and testing of products and analytics tools. This person will partner directly with our local and global digital teams, business collaborators, and strategic partners to ensure our vision is translated to enhance business and customer outcomes.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of 2-5 years of experience
  • Fluency in English. Spanish and/or Portuguese are a strong plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to understand business metrics and translate company goals and objectives into digital experiences
  • Experience in the five stages of human-centered design research
  • Ability to implement research, testing, and improvement strategies from remote working locations
  • Persona/Journey development, UX research
  • Excellent social skills to communicate ideas to developers
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of industry tools like Adobe, Illustrator, and Sketch
  • Problem-solving skills to determine solutions to user interface challenges
  • Multi-tasking and time leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Analytical mind with utility business acumen
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Attention to detail and proficiency in information design
  • Teammate with the willingness and ability to learn/guide
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing business needs
  • Ability to lead a project from beginning to successful completion
