Job Description

The Senior UX designer is responsible for planning and overseeing the process used by the UX team. The successful candidate will create UX design efforts across an infuse them with large multi-disciplined team and the delivery landscape in support of I the systems development lifecycle process. UX designers measure and optimize applications (usually web-based) to improve ease of use (usability), and create the best user experience by exploring many different approaches to solve end-users’ problems.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Provides expertise in UX design process and system analysis, design, improvement, and implementation efforts or in translating business process needs into technical requirements
  • Use available computer systems resources and personnel to carry out analysis to support management’s quest for performance improvement to determine the most useful business solution.
  • Assist in the analysis, design, implementation, and support of new processes for customers.
  • Support Requirements definition and documentation
  • Assist with functional and process analysis and documentation
  • Assist with planning and implementing IT solutions
  • Assist with testing the completed solution against the functional requirements
  • Train customer on new processes
  • Engaging users and stakeholders throughout the requirement, business process re-engineering, and testing
  • Providing expertise in change management and training support
  • Perform installation and detailed configuration of COTS applications
  • Carry-out testing and quality assurance (QA) processes
  • Coordinate production roll- out activities
  • Application support after roll-out
  • Plus demonstrated experience:
    • Designing, developing, and managing software applications.
    • Complete clearly defined project tasks with minimum supervision
    • Contribute significantly to the design, implementation, and testing of technical IT solutions
    • Attain necessary training or certification(s)

Qualifications

Requirements/Skills:

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Technology, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in Product Management
  • Active Public Trust Moderate
  • Active UX Design certification (preferred)
  • Experience in participating in large, cross-functional technical teams
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in both oral and written form
  • Ability to manage dynamic deadlines and adaptability to shifting priorities
  • Ability to effectively coordinate and collaborate with clients
  • Ability to balance client needs and level set expectations based on team capacity
  • Attention to detail and maintaining proactive communication
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in the Federal Government
