Texture Artist
KitBash3D is looking for experienced Texture Artists to join our growing organization. As a Texture Artist, you will work alongside our talented team of concept artists, modelers, and texture artists to further our mission to enable and inspire the creators of the virtual frontier. We’re increasing the speed and ease of building 3D worlds and getting new people excited to build their own worlds. In order to achieve our goals we are always looking for talented artists to join our team!

As our ideal candidate, you have a passion for creating materials and contributing to the art community. This role requires a great eye for what makes a texture realistic as well as appealing to a specific model and genre. You are experienced with a PBR workflow and have a great overall design aesthetic. You are organized, efficient, creative, open-minded, and excited to be a part of an unstoppable team.

Location & Schedule: This role open to remote US applicants as well as global independent contractors. Local candidates have the option to work out of our office located in Portland, Oregon. This position is remote with flexible work hours and the ability to make your own schedule so long as you hit milestones and delivery deadlines. What matters to our team is your sense of excellence and integrity.
What You’ll Contribute:
- Material Design: Interpret a moodboard, define a material style and create a set of tileable PBR materials.
- PBR Workflow: Create and deliver Substance materials and PBR textures in line with our pipeline.
- Material Application: Apply materials to 3D models and adjust UVs to fit the needs of the textures.
- Rendering: Render beautiful images of the 3D models, in your software of choice, with your materials applied for visual approval and potential marketing use.
What You Bring to the Team:
- 2+ years of experience in 3D Material creation.
- Portfolio of work demonstrating proficiency in Substance Designer/Painter.
- Render knowledge in one the following 3D software: 3dsmax, Maya, Blender.
- Solid understanding of PBR Workflows, UVs, and surface/light interactions.
- Strong Lighting/Rendering skills is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate and work well on a team
