Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan, create, and maintain technical documentation for internal and external engineering audiences, including developer notes, FAQs, and other documentation
  • Partner with software developers and product managers to shape customer experiences
  • Enable users to get the most out of innovative software solutions aimed at transforming healthcare
  • Be one of the first to try new product features while working with developers and designers to improve the related user experience, UI text, error messages, and API design
  • Create and maintain code samples and sample applications
  • Maintain documentation across a wide range of central design-system functions such as playbooks, processes and procedures, presentations, websites, FAQs, wizards/instructions, inline application/tool help text, engineering documentation, training, and more
  • Edit, clarify, and proofread colleagues’ documents and coach non-writers on ways to improve their writing skills
  • Work with peer writers and editors to improve your writing and grow professionally as a technical communicator

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of technical writing experience
  • Experience with Git and software platforms like GitHub and GitLab
  • Experience with web-application development
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and Markdown
  • Working in an Agile Development environment
  • Excellent English writing skills
  • Established record of project ownership, project management, and self-direction

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of technical writing experience
  • Experience using UNIX or Linux environments

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
