As a System Administrator for Optum State Government Solutions (OSGS) System Administration Center of Excellence, you will be responsible for installation, configuration and support of application components across OSGS book of business. This includes the management of large server farms across Windows 2019 Server, Windows7 Desktop, Red hat Linux and Oracle Linux Environments.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Installation and configuration of application components of solutions
- Serve as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues related to application and server performance
- Expert in Windows Server 2016, Windows7 Desktop, Red hat Linux and Oracle Linux operating systems
- Upgrade of servers from Windows 2012 to Windows 2019
- Upgrade of Red Hat Linux 7 to Red Hat Linux 9
- Manage all scheduled maintenance across all servers, in support of service level agreements
- Experience with both SharePoint and VMWare is a plus
- Ability to provide highly technical and end-user support to clients via telephone and ticketing system
- Submission of change control for all scheduled maintenance
- Security compliance according to State and Federal security policies and regulations. This includes the support of centralized logging capabilities, the provisioning of tight controls over access to all servers and accountability for remediation of ongoing penetration test findings
- Validation and support of disaster recovery plan for all server and application components of OSGS State contracts

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years System Administration experience with Windows and Unix
- 5+ years of Linux systems administration, maintenance, and security
- 5+ years Windows systems administration, maintenance, and security
- Experience managing high availability virtual environments utilizing VMWare
- Experience with and willingness to support 24×7 production environments- on call rotation
- General auditing/troubleshooting experience on all levels (network, Linux, software, hardware)
- Knowledge of Network Administration (Firewall, ACLs/NAT, design, upgrades, security)
- Working knowledge of scripting and automation tools like Python/Shell/Perl
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP and networking fundamentals
- Day-to-day troubleshooting of application and database connectivity problems
- Proactive application monitoring and trouble resolution
- Report writing in support of service level agreement reporting requirements
- Process and procedure documentation for contractual required documentation, including an operation manual for ongoing support of the environment
- Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
