We are looking for a Director of Cybersecurity Strategy and Business Operations to support the strategic planning, execution, and growth of our security program. This role will be responsible for overseeing large-scale cross-functional security initiatives and goals and maintaining the cybersecurity strategy including resource management, financial planning, and forecasting strategic priorities to drive and ensure alignment and delivery across the organization. This role will also be responsible for cybersecurity services and brand management, security awareness, and enabling strategic risk-based decision-making through reporting scalable and sustainable operational metrics and KPIs. This role reports to the VP of Governance, Risk, & Compliance

What You’ll Do
- Lead all cybersecurity-related strategic planning and reporting in conjunction with the CISO, Cybersecurity Leadership, and PMO
- Establish, measure, and communicate Key Performance Indicators and metrics via dashboards and scorecards to report the health, evolution, and effectiveness of the cybersecurity program
- Collaborate with the Cybersecurity Leadership team to develop, maintain, and drive execution of the Cybersecurity Program including long-range plans and associated roadmaps
- Led the organization’s resource management, financial planning, budget management, and vendor management activities in partnership with HR, Finance, and Legal
- Elevate cybersecurity awareness and culture through continuous training and effective service and brand management, ensuring that security is integrated into all aspects of Marqeta’s operations
What We’re Looking For
- A minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12 years and a Master’s degree; or a Ph.D. with 8 years experience; or equivalent experience.
- Master’s or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 8-10 years of industry experience in Information Security, Technical Program, Project Management, or Risk Management
- Proven ability to develop structure, advance execution, and measure performance within various and complex projects, teams, and environment
- Strong working knowledge of Key Performance Indicators and security metrics
- Proven experience in financial planning and budget management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to simplify key security messages and translate technical matters to non-technical audiences
- Experience driving the implementation of regulations and industry standards preferred (e.g. PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOC2, SOX, NIST, GDPR, etc.)
- A strong bias toward action and ability to operate proactively and effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- CISSP, CISM, CISA, CIPP, and CIPT are preferred but not required
