Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the management of a growing unclaimed property consulting and compliance practice across multiple offices
  • Provide excellent client service to a large portfolio of clients
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely completion of multiple unclaimed property projects
  • Work to improve processes, gain efficiencies and seek opportunities that prove beneficial and cost effective
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop SALT associates
  • Manage and develop colleague and community relationships
  • Research unclaimed property and other tax matters impacting firm clients
  • Participation in voluntary disclosure programs, technical research, exposure quantification, audit defense, and similar projects
  • Provide project management support, and help manage client expectations through effective client communications, on a wide range of projects; lead and train Associate and Senior Associate team members on these projects

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance for closely related field from accredited college or university
  • 5-7+ years unclaimed property experience; relating to compliance requirements, voluntary disclosure programs and other consulting experience
  • At least 3+ years of experience managing unclaimed property engagements
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with other state and local tax matters, is a plus
  • This position has the ability to work remote
  • CPA, CMI, JD, or LLM nice to have, but not required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications and tax research tools
