LastPass is looking for a Staff Backend Engineer:

The Staff Backend Engineer will help develop solutions for www.lastpass.com. We are a full stack team that includes frontend, backend, DevOps, and QA engineers. Right now, we are hard at work developing the next generation of the LastPass website and need someone to come on board to help deliver on business goals as we migrate and consolidate systems.

Who will you work with?

Work with your engineering team to:

  • Collaborate on solutions
  • Integrate frontend code into Sitecore
  • Test your work
  • Coordinate deployment of updates

Work with marketing partners to:

  • Deliver incremental improvements to the website through component creation, refactor, and redesign.
  • Assist with the setup and configuration of multivariate tests on the website platform.
  • Help form technical requirements from business requirements.

Work with web publishers to:

  • Train them in the use of new/existing components.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to component placement & functionality.
  • Support and troubleshoot issues related to localization/translation processes.

What are some of the exciting challenges you will be working on?

  • Become the go-to person for new component/rendering development in our CMS
  • Assist with cleanup of legacy/existing components
  • Migration of LastPass blog into CMS
  • Help to map out our longer-term headless CMS ambitions
  • Help assume ownership of LastPass trial flows (currently hosted in PHP)

What does it take to work at LastPass?

  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and .NET/C#/MVC
  • Familiarity and experience with CMS systems, Sitecore preferred
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and refactoring code of high complexity
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Team-player and can-do attitude
  • Experience with version control, build, and bug tracking systems such as TeamCity, Octopus, Bitbucket, and Jira

It’s great, but not required:

  • An openness and curiosity to be full stack and understand all sides of Web
  • React, TypeScript, NPM, node.js
  • PHP Experience/Familiarity – Our needs here are transitional, having someone open to this stack on the team could open doors for us.
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art development tools, techniques, and standards related to Containerization and Cloud Native Applications
  • Familiarity with cloud services like Azure & AWS
  • Experience with headless CMS
  • Agency experience
