Are you interested in protecting the Airbnb community from malicious bots? Do you have an adversarial mindset? Do you have a blend of quantitative, CS, and ML skills? If so, join us at Airbnb! We are founding a new Anti-Bots Engineering team and are looking for a strong technical leader who is motivated by continuously evolving our capabilities to detect and disrupt attackers. This leader will get involved with researching attack patterns, develop models to identify traffic which matches these patterns, and partner with various teams to implement interventions against these attackers.
Successful candidates for this team will be autonomous, have a bias toward action, and enjoy diving deep into data. The ideal candidate will have a background in a quantitative field as well as ML. The candidate will also have experience manipulating & analyzing large data.
A Typical Day:
- Analyze our traffic data to identify attack patterns
- Use your extensive domain knowledge of bot detection and ML to proactively detect attacks against our platform
- Develop and implement tools to combat attacks
- Implement effective countermeasures to stop scraping based on these identified patterns
- Be a thought leader for Airbnb’s anti-bot initiatives and guide the team’s overall direction
- Partner with other Engineering teams to help develop a holistic solution to bot detection and intervention
Your Expertise:
- Level 11 technologists typically have 12+ years of industry experience with a BS/Masters and 9+ years with a Ph.D
- 5+ years developing ML models
- 3+ years of experience in the adversarial space working on bot detection & mitigation
- 3+ years of experience doing quantitative analysis
- Experience manipulating & analyzing large data sets
- Experience with programming languages such Java, Scala, Python, & SQL
