About this team:

Mozilla’s Core Services team is looking for a Staff Services Engineer to help build the present and future of our Crash Ingestion and Analysis infrastructure. Mozilla’s crash reporting system serves the needs of multiple products, including the Firefox browser, from data collection through to insights. Our goal is to build a robust, efficient, and effective system that makes it increasingly easy to inform the stability of Mozilla’s growing set of products.

What you’ll do:

  • Designing, building, and improving systems to reliably and efficiently process crash data at the scale of Firefox.
  • Informing business decisions around prioritization of work on product stability with data.
  • Scaling crash ingestion systems to address new products and use cases.
  • Mentoring teammates, developing and improving engineering best practices across MozProd Infrastructure.

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development
  • Experience developing robust services according modern best practices of observability and CI/CD
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals: modularity, abstraction, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Prior experience as a technical lead, team lead, or similar leadership role.
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Professional experience in JavaScript
