Brief Overview:

We’re seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to play a key role in designing and implementing quality healthcare solutions and drive technical excellence. This role requires a hands-on leader who can design and implement scalable solutions, mentor engineers, and enforce best practices in software development. You’ll work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and engineers to build high-quality, innovative applications. The ideal candidate has a strong background in architecture, coding, and team leadership and is passionate about delivering robust, scalable solutions.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and high-performance software solutions.
  • Guide and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers, to define and deliver project requirements.
  • Drive best practices in coding, testing, and deployment to ensure high code quality and efficiency.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve development processes.
  • Oversee system architecture decisions and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring system reliability and performance.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with Ruby, TypeScript or other high-level language
  • 3+ years working with enterprise applications hosted in AWS, production application experience strongly preferred
  • 3+ years leading a software development team in a senior engineer capacity
  • Experience building in a microservice/DevOps environment.
  • Experience with container-based deployments
  • Experience building multiple levels of automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) to ensure high quality code delivery.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or DynamoDB
  • Preferred: Experience supporting longer lived existing code bases
  • Preferred: Experience troubleshooting application issues in a production environment and ability to respond to after-hours outages as required
  • Nice to have: Experience with Terraform
  • Healthcare experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with Google CDR is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, teamwork and leadership skills
  • Experience with Agile methodology
