Title: Staff Design Ops Manager, Growth (Remote)

We’re looking for a Staff Design Ops Manager to lead design programs within our Growth team. Design Ops Managers at Squarespace are embedded within our Product Design organization and amplify the impact of design by allowing our designers to focus on the work. You will lead programs for the design group in which you are embedded, and implement processes to influence how we collaborate with matrixed teams to optimize design output. Some of your core partners will be design leadership, product managers, product designers, content strategists, user researchers, engineers, technical program managers and legal/business affairs.

You will report to the Senior Manager of Design Operations. We are open to this position being remote.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Continuously look to optimize and improve our design processes in measurable ways
  • Own design program management thought leadership for the entire product area, becoming the go-to subject matter expert
  • Successfully negotiate new priorities and disruptive solutions with multiple stakeholders and leadership
  • Influence cross-functional partners to focus on efforts that have the largest business impact
  • Guide and document design feedback and identify opportunities to maximize design output
  • Partner with your design managers to develop plans for onboarding new designers
  • Guide design scoping, timelines, and delivery in collaboration with product teams
  • Maintain design program status and communicate across the product team
  • Coordinate discovery loops and usability studies in partnership with product designers
  • Create and manage budgets for content licensing
  • Coordinate with legal to secure licensing agreements with content providers

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of experience as a digital producer or program manager with a background in product, digital, or tech
  • Stakeholder management; You have the ability to build consensus around a high quality solution that affects the strategy and roadmap of your product area, which can come with a high degree of difficult strategic and organizational challenges
  • Communication; You are comfortable presenting large proposals to leadership confidently. You define and champion the team goals of the product area
  • Experience working closely with designers and familiarity with research methods and product development
  • Experience building programs from scratch and measuring their impact
  • Ability to identify and address blockers with a solutions oriented approach
  • Team-player mentality with a limitless determination to succeed and grow
