Job Description
*This remote role can be located anywhere in the US.

The Sr. Manager, Project Management (Medicaid) supports the business by taking appropriate actions, strategies and/or alternatives to meet business needs typically tied to a key Aetna Medicaid practice (project management, business process management, implementation, etc.).

Typically manages multiple managers and their work teams and/or most complex projects through to implementation.

Sets strategic direction for team and/or complex projects and or programs (e.g., national in scope which may impact one or all segments, and typically runs multiple years in duration with high financial implications). Has full accountability for all aspects of projects and or programs such as financial, regulatory, marketing, etc.

Set the direction of the strategic business plan for assigned practice and translate into vision for staff and stakeholders (internal, external, regulatory)
As a business leader, influence all stakeholders to support key projects/programs to ensure positive outcomes that deliver on results.

Drive change in order to improve performance results, organization effectiveness and/or systems/quality/services (e.g., policies, processes or systems).

Identify gaps in processes or organization and challenging self and others to develop and implement quality, compliant solutions

Direct accountability for impact to SG&A – ensures accurate prioritization of key projects/programs within purview.

Exercise ultimate accountability for practice and project services being delivered including organizations, budget and/or financial implications.

Collaboratively work across multiple functions and /or segments to obtain agreement from all stakeholders

Typically manage staff (internal, external, matrixed) including SMEs and senior project managers

Required Qualifications
5+ years managed care / health insurance industry experience

Multiple years’ proven leadership experience setting strategic direction and influencing change that resulted in quantifiable positive outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications
Proven track record managing complex projects and or programs that resulted in cost savings.

Experience managing large budgets.

Successful Project management experience.

Supervisory experience.

Effective communication (oral, written presentation) at most senior level

Business acumen / emotional intelligence

Collaboration and facilitation including:
– Relationship management
– Problem solving
– Skilled-user expertise with Microsoft Office tools, specifically Word, Excel, Project and Visio
– Skilled-user experience with Microsoft SharePoint
– Negotiation and critical thinking skills
– Relationship leadership and change management

Education
BS or BA or equivalent work experience.
