What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Prepare business licensing documentation to assist in commercial go to market efforts, including:
- Draft documentation for submission to government agencies
- Interface with local Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of Revenues
- Submit business licensing documents and liaising with agencies for follow up
- Manage business license renewals at the state and local level, tracking deadlines
- Help structure and implement national level roadmap of business licensing and compliance requirements to enable launch of retail network
- Document licensing processes and draft project charters to manage effort components across stakeholders, and to enable iterative feedback on licensing efforts (e.g., using tools such as SharePoint, JIRA)
- Lead go to market implementation efforts across key internal stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Administration) and external stakeholders, defining initiatives and updating statuses, to ensure regulatory operability across the network
- Support with basic legal and regulatory analysis in collaboration with legal and government affairs team to interpret state licensing and compliance statutes
- Manage and update key database of key contacts, registrations, accounts, for business compliance and maintenance
- Conduct all due diligence required to stand up businesses/facilities from a regulatory operational lens
- Assist with facility set up and ongoing business management, including in-person travel to facilities (e.g., record keeping, basic IT set up, entity/secretary of state compliance)
Location & Travel Expectations:
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
- This role is remote based in the United States. This role is not eligible for remote work in New York City.

- Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years of experience working in business compliance, licensing/permitting, regulatory affairs, operations, titling, paralegal/law support, state/local government, department of motor vehicles, business management, or related sectors
- Automotive experience a plus but not required. Relevant industries could include: regulatory/government agencies, legal/compliance, financial services, real estate management
- Previous experience in high-growth and fast-paced environments
- Excellent attention to detail and bias towards action – a true “get it done” attitude
- An ability to manage projects independently, identifying key interdependencies with the broader organization
- Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and high level of comfort working with ambiguous, ever-changing problems
- Skillful at organizational navigation and cross-functional collaboration at all levels; ability to develop effective partnerships and relationships
- Ability to both tackle strategic projects and to roll up your sleeves without hesitation for direct customer interaction
