Software Engineer III

In addition to our core electric vehicle charging network, we run a community-driven product, PlugShare, to help consumers find charging for their electric vehicles. This role will develop the existing PlugShare services stack, and build out our next generation of Accounts, Billing, and Subscription micro-services to power both EVgo and PlugShare into the future. This means working on our popular and rapidly growing products while also tackling exciting, greenfield projects. We are looking for a seasoned engineer with a demonstrated ability to solve complex problems. Qualified candidates have experience implementing software solutions to address complex business requirements. A track record of designing and shipping significant new services or major functional changes is crucial.
Requirements:
- Highly proficient in at least one backend stack including JavaScript/Node or Python with a demonstrated capacity to learn new technologies.
- Aptitude to design elegant solutions to ambiguous business requirements, often with wide enough scope to involve additional engineers on your team
- Demonstrated results in building scalable, performant GraphQL and/or REST APIs
- Understanding of cloud technologies such as AWS services
- Expertise, and good judgment, with modern technologies and patterns including SQL/NoSQL data stores, messaging systems, in-memory caches, and cloud services.
- Coding practices that set the standard and raise the bar for those around you
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative, and agile environment, serving as a role model to other engineers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, driving collaboration with peers and members of other teams.
- Strong motivation and attention to detail
- B.S. in computer science, related degree, or equivalent work experience.

- PII, authentication, or other high-security services
- Payment or e-commerce application development
- Services with compliance, such as PCI, HIPAA, or SOX
