Overview:
We are part of the Messaging Engine team, the owners of UMS (Unified messaging system). UMS is the main backend messaging platform for LivePerson. It manages asynchronous messaging but is also involved with auto-messaging, shift schedule management, file upload URL requests, and more.
You will:
- Own the design and implementation of significant portions of the product development, and serve as a leader and mentor for other engineers in their areas of work
- Assist in setting the features, architecture, and best practices of the team, and have significant influence on our overall strategy
- Create a reliable, scalable, and high performance service requiring exceptional technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems
- Work on complex system software that achieves operational goals.
You have:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a directly related field plus three (3) years of experience as a software engineer or developer.
Three (3) years in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Experience with Java in Data Structures and Algorithm Design
- Building High Scale Distributed Systems using one of the following: Jetty, Nginx, Websocket framework, REST, Apache Kafka, or ZooKeeper
- Experience with one of the following J2EE platforms: Java Servlets, JSP, JDBC, or JAX-RS
- Experience with one of the following SQL Databases: MySQL or Oracle
- Experience with one of the following NoSQL Databases: Couchbase, Cassandra, or Elasticsearch
- Experience building Enterprise systems with one of the following: Spring MVC or Spring Boot
- Experience with one of the following build technologies: Apache Maven, Git, TeamCity, Puppet, Docker, or Kubernetes
Two (2) years in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Experience with one of the following JavaScript languages: Node.js or Angular JS
- Experience with one of the following Agile methodologies: Jira, ServiceNow, or Confluence
Benefits:
The salary range for this role will be between $150,000 to $165,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, your location, skills, experience, education, and/or certifications. During the phone screening, the recruiter will provide the location-specific salary range for this role.
